Russell McCoy - District Seven
I wake up to rain pouring down on the roof. Great way to start a day. I hope it's better weather for interviews tomorrow. I quickly get dressed. Running a hand through my hair, I walk down to breakfast, still yawing. Everybody else is there, eating. The escort, Gabriella Tellaine, my fellow tribute, Cliff, and the mentor, Hunter.
I join them with a plate of eggs, toast, and a muffin.
"Okay, boys, today you'll be with me for four hours and then you'll be with Hunter for four hours. Is that clear?" Gabriella asks. "Yep," Cliff and I mumble.
After we eat, I go with Hunter while Cliff heads off with Gabriella.
"So Russell, there are many different ways you can come across to the crowd," begins Hunter. I nod. "Some would be charming, funny, tough, angry, shy, innocent, witty, or smart," Hunter says. "Whoa. That's a lot," I say. Hunter laughs a little. "I think I'll go with funny," I tell him.
For the next four hours, we work on what I should say and how to answer questions.
Next, I have to go with Gabriella. We spend our hours working on presence, so how I sit and walk and stuff like that. Luckily, it goes by fast. We eat lunch after we both finish. We have orange soup and buttery rolls. I think about the interviews more after.
Mitchell Cambers - District Ten
Today is interview day. It's also a nice, bright, sunny day, unlike yesterday, which was grey, rainy, and drab. I start off the day in a better mood thanks to the sunshine.
I take a shower and then put on simple clothes. Later today, our stylists and prep team will prepare us for the interviews.
I have mixed feelings about the interviews. On the one hand, this is the time to show the crowd who you are. It give the crowd a chance yo think about who to sponsor and having sponsors helps. But on the other hand, interviews can be totally fake. I mean some people actually show their true personality but most people spend the day working on what to act like. I think about all of this as I eat breakfast.
The escort, Felicity Justice rambles on about the interviews. Just on and on.
Later that day, we head down to our stylists and prep team to get ready for the interviews. My stylist is Paris and my prep team are Rocky, Lina, and Quinn. They spend about three hours making me over. At the end, I'm dressed in a dark blue tuxedo with a black shirt underneath and black shoes. There's gel in my hair and it's a weird texture and I want to take it out but that would probably be rude.
We meet up with Tucker and his team in the hall. We quickly head down. We get lead into a long hall where all the other tributes are. We stand in order, from the District One tributes to the District Twelve tributes. In front of Tucker are Finn and Roger and behind me are Basil and Rover.
Caesar announces the first tribute, Calvin. I begin to get super nervous. I don't know why, I will do fine.
