Holly Chang - District Seven
Yesterday was hilarious when Sky and I rejected Marcus. I can't believe he really thought we would like him. His ego is way too big. I really like Jordan though. He's nice and funny, and he's way more polite than Marcus. I hope we do training together today. I start the day off happy thinking of that. I get dressed and do my long black hair in a high ponytail. I walk down the hall for breakfast.
The escort, Gabriella, and the mentor, Hunter, are already eating. "Good morning," they both say. "Morning!" I say. I put a croissant, eggs, potatoes, and a muffin on my plate. I quickly eat and then we take the elevator down. I walk over to Sky.
"Holly! Hi," she says. "Hi! How are you?" I ask. "Pretty good, you?" She asks. "I'm great," I reply. "What station do you want to visit first?" Sky asks when the head trainer lets us go. "How about knot-tying?" I suggest. Sky nods and we head over there. We talk as we attempt to tie our first knot.
"We need to get some cute boys on our side," I tell Sky. She grins. "You're talking about Jordan, aren't you?" She asks. A smile tugs at the corner of my mouth. "Maybe," I reply. She laughs. "You guys are cute together," she says. "You really think so?" I ask. "Yep." Sky nods. "I do like him but I don't know if he likes me," I say. "Oh he does. When you were at camouflage and you were showing him how to do it, he wasn't paying attention. He was looking at you," Sky says. "He was not," I say. "Oh yes he was," Sky says. I laugh and shake my head.
"Anyways you're right we do need some boys. Well obviously me and you could win the Games by ourselves but it'd be nice to have some boys. Except Marcus," Sky says. "Um, obviously. Also it was so funny when we rejected him," I say. "I know right! I mean who would go out with him!" Exclaims Sky.
"Look I did my knot!" I say happily, holding it up. "Same!" Sky exclaims. "Okay, I'm gonna go over and talk to Jordan," I tell Sky. "Yes! You can do it. And just remember, he likes you," she says. I smile and then walk over to Jordan.
"Heyy," he says. "Hi," I say back. "Want to go to a station together?" He asks. "Sure, which one?" I ask. "How about obstacle courses?" Suggests Jordan. "Sure," I agree. We walk over. We pick the ropes course. "Want to go first?" Asks Jordan. See, he's so polite! "Sure." I smile. I climb on and slightly wobble, but I steady myself. It's hard but I make it to the top.
"Wow you're good," Jordan says. "Thanks." I smile. Then I roll my eyes as I see Marcus walking over to us. "What does he want now?" I mutter under my breath. "I know right," agrees Jordan. "Hey guys," Marcus says cheerfully, smiling an ugly smile. We ignore him. Jordan gets on the rope course and begins to climb. Marcus grabs his shoulder. Jordan turns around. "What?" He asks.
"I thought we had a little discussion last time of this being my course," Marcus says. "I don't think it's exactly yours Marcus." I laugh. "I don't really care what you think," he says to me. "Hey, leave her out of this," Jordan says, shoving Marcus out of the way. Marcus shoved him right back. "Guys, stop," I say to them as they continue pushing each other. Two trainers come over and separate them.
"I'm sorry," Jordan says to me. "Nah it's good. I get it, Marcus can be really annoying," I say. Jordan climbs onto the course and gets to the top pretty fast. "You're pretty fast," I tell him. "I'm faster than you," he says with a smile. "Oh really? We'll see about that," I say, laughing. I get on the course and get to the top without wobbling once. I hop down and smile.
"Okay, that was fast," admits Jordan. We both laugh. We keep going, trying to be faster than the other. Until Marcus comes and tells us we've been here for way too long. I guess he's right but the way he did it was annoying. Jordan and I head over to camouflage. We did it yesterday but we decide to do it again. My strength is camouflage, so I'm trying to teach Jordan how to do it. He's pretty bad at it so that's why we're doing it again. Maybe he'll be better at it today.
I start off by teaching him how to paint a tree disguise. I show him what colours to do and how to blend them. His doesn't turn out too well. I get up and walk over to him. I hold onto his brush and begin blending the colours more. He still holds onto his brush so our hands are touching. I freeze for a second, and then we both let go. The brush falls to the floor. I feel my cheeks flaming red as I bend over and pick it up. I hand it back to Jordan. After a little more blending and swirling, Jordan gets better.
"Hey, I'm gonna go talk to Sky. Wanna meet at archery in a bit?" I ask Jordan. "Sure, see you then," he says. I walk over to Sky with a smile on my face. "How'd it go with Jordan?" She asks. "Good. We were laughing most of the time. I tried to teach him camouflage again but he still isn't the best. He did better today though. It was really fun," I tell her. "Holly, that's great! You two will be a couple, I just know it," Sky says. I laugh. I hope so though. I really like Jordan.
"Okay, now get back to Jordan. He looks like a sad puppy dog without you," Sky tells me. I laugh and wave bye to her. I walk over to Jordan and we head to archery together.
Jacklyn Eversea - District Four
I don't know what station to go to. Most of them have at least one tribute there. I decide to head to wrestling since it's empty. I've also never done wrestling before so it'll be good to try something new. I wait for another tribute to come so we can wrestle.
I begin to panic when I see Marcus heading over here. Oh no. Marcus is really good at wrestling. There's no way I can beat him. But I know if I back down everyone will think I'm weak. So even though he's gonna win, I stay. He strolls up. The trainer says we can begin. We step onto the mat (me nervously, Marcus, confidently). All the other tributes look our way to see how this will pan out. I get even more nervous. Deep breaths, Jacklyn.
We start. For most of the time I do pretty well. I see Marcus getting angrier and angrier as I stay standing. I give Marcus one big push and he falls on his back. I look around. Everyone's jaw is dropped, including mine. Well, the boys jaws are dropped. The girls look like they knew I could do it. But I can't believe I just did. Marcus is really good at wrestling. I think I just found my new strength.
I extend my hand to help Marcus up, but he just pulls me onto the ground. He stands up and stalks away angrily. I roll my eyes at him as I get up. Holly and Sky hurry up to me.
"That was awesome!" Holly exclaims. I smile and say, "You really think so?" "You slayed it on that mat! I've never seen Marcus that angry before, even when Holly and I rejected him," Sky says. "You guys rejected him?! Awesome," I say. Somebody needed to put Marcus in his place. "Hey guys, I was thinking we should form our old alliance back. You guys and me, and then North, Cami, and Cove," Sky says. "Sure, I'll do that. Then we'll probably be the biggest alliance. I can't see any of the boys being together, especially no one likes Marcus," I observe.
"Yeah we should do that. But what about Jordan? I really like him," Asks Holly. "Wait, you and Jordan are a thing?" I question. She blushes. "Well not really a thing, but..." Holly trails off. "Yeah they're dating," Sky cuts in. "Sky! No we're not!" Exclaims Holly. I look around for Jordan. He's sitting with Ashton and Calvin, but Jordan is looking at Holly. And the way he's looking at her you can tell her definitely likes her.
"Holly Jordan's looking at you. And he definitely likes you," I say. Sky looks over at Jordan as well. She laughs. "He is looking at you. Anyways, ask Jordan and his pack to join our alliance. Then on the first day we'll try to find each other. If we don't then we don't," Sky says. "Okay," Holly and I say.
