Pierce Lillay - District Four

"Jay, we've done so many weapon stations. Let's do survival skills," I tell my ally and best friend Jay. Kay laughs. "What?" He asks. "Jay, in the first two days of training, we've done axes, archery, gauntlets, knives, ropes course, slingshots, spears, swords, tridents, weightlifting, and wrestling! All the weapons!" I exclaim. "Let's go to shelter making."

"Okay okay," Jay agrees. We walk over to shelter-making, an empty station.

"Hello," the leader says warmly. They show us different shelters to make and the supplies needed to make them. We learn a lot and when we move onto hammock-making, I feel much better. Shelters will help a ton in the arena.

We quickly learn how to make hammocks. Hammocks will also help in the arena. They are kind of hard to make but both Jay and I do well. By the end of the day, we have visited shelters, hammocks, edible plants, and edible insects. I feel much more confident in my survival skills. Another good thing came out of training today, we formed an alliance with Trevor from District Three and Cedar from District Eight. Now we have a group of four which is good.

Right now Jay and I are sitting on the bench waiting to go into our private sessions with the Gamemakers. I'm showing them my knife throwing, and Jay is showing them his slingshot skills. I get to go before Jay. He and I are both fourteen, but I'm three months older. Since we're all the same gender, the older boy goes first.

"Pierce Lillay," I hear from the speaker above. "Good luck," Jay tells me. "You too," I say, standing up. I walk into the room.

"Pierce Lillay. District Four," I announce to the Gamemakers. I walk over to where the knives are. I grab a few and take some deep breaths. The first target comes, and I throw a knife at it with all I've got. At the end, I've hit all the targets but one. It was up close and came so quickly and I didn't think. I wish I hit every single target, but I'm okay with it.

Later that night, it's time for training scores. Jay and I told each other about our private sessions, he did really well too. We all sit down in the living room, Jay and I, the escort Florence Flynn, our mentors Micah and Sage, and our stylists Vivianne and Owen.

"It is now time for training scores!" Caesar Flickerman exclaims. Calvin and Jonah from District One both get a nine. From District Two Maverick scores an eight and Oliver gets a seven. Next up District Three. Trevor gets a nine and Hayden gets a six.

"And District Four is up next!" Caesar says. Everyone in the room holds their breath. "Pierce Lillay with an eight and Jay Vreeland with a nine," he says. "Oh good job!" Exclaims Sage. Everybody cheers and claps for us. Jay and I high five. "Great job boys!" Florence tells us. "Amazing scores!" Micah adds. Our stylists congratulate us as well.

Hudson Bricker - District Six

Dylan from District Five gets a six. Marcus pulls off an eleven!! How did he pull that off?! That's almost perfect. Wow. Next up is my District.

"Hudson Bricker with a nine!" Caesar exclaims. "Good job Hudson!" Everyone says. I'm happy with a nine, that's pretty damn good. "And we have Theo Franklin with a seven!" Caesar says. Everyone congratulates Theo as well. "Good job!" I tell him. "Thanks, you did good too," he says back. The other tributes score anywhere from five to ten. So Marcus got the beet score. I wonder how. Whatever, Theo and I both did good as well.

"Tomorrow you will be coached for the interviews. You will be with Ariella for four hours and with me for four hours. See you tomorrow," our mentor Ashlyn tells Theo and I. She walks off to bed. "I wonder how interviews will go," Theo says. "Yeah," I agree as we both stand up. We begin walking down the hall to our rooms. "Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to be allies," I ask Theo before we head into our rooms. "Sure let's do it," he says, and then heads into his room. I head into mine, feeling happy. I'm glad he said yes, we make a good alliance.
