Princess Papillion - District Two

"What are you showing the Gamemakers?" I whisper to Sky. "Spears, what about you?" Sky asks. "Knives," I reply.

Most people think I'm weak and have no skills because of my name and the way I look, but I can do a lot and I'm very good at knife throwing. Right now, Sky and I are waiting to go into our private sessions with the Gamemakers. Since this Games is only girls, they're doing whoever is older does their session first. Cami is in her private session right now, and next will be Sky and then me.

I'm sort of nervous for my session but I'm also prepared and ready. Sky and I did the knife station three times in training, and I hit each target every time. I hope I do the same in training. Suddenly Cami comes back and the speaker above us says, "Sky Rangoli." Sky gets up and begins walking towards the doors. "Hey Sky?" I say. She turns around. "Yeah?" She questions. "Good luck," I say. "You too, I guess," she says back, and then walks in. The door shuts behind her.

I slide down the bench. My heart is hammering and my palms are sweating. I take a deep breath. I don't know why I'm so nervous. I just really want to do well and get a good training score so people know not to mess with me. I don't want them to think I'm just some little girl who can't do anything. I know a lot of skills.

I'm thinking about what I'm going to in my session when Sky walks in and I hear the speaker announce my name. Whoa. I need to calm down. I stand up and slowly walk towards the door where private sessions are held. I hold my head high and walk in.

"Princess Papillion. District Two," I announce to the Gamemakers. They go silent and begin watching me. I take another deep breath and walk over to the knives. I grab some and get ready. The first one comes, and I throw a knife at it with all I've got. Second, third, fourth target, I do the same. I hit all the targets perfectly. At the end I'm out of breath. "Thank you," one of the Gamemakers say. "You may leave," says another. I exit the room proudly. Hopefully I get a good score.

Nikita Skeeter - District Twelve

"Nikita! Training scores are coming out now!" Naima Patterson, the escort, tells me. I head down to the living room and Naima, Addelyn (the other tribute), Olympia (our mentor), Faye (my stylist), Panima (Addelyn's stylist), and I all sit down on the big chairs and couches. Naima quickly turns on the TV.

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen!" Caesar Flickerman booms into the screen. "Tonight we will be announcing the training scores for each tribute, so let's go!" Addelyn and I are District 12, therefore we will be last so we don't have to worry yet.

The girls from One do pretty well, Serena gets a 10, she'll definitely be a competitor, and Cami gets an 8 which is also good. Next up, District Two. Sky scores a 9 and Princess gets a 7. "District Three, Tenlie with a 7 and Ruby with a 5! Good job girls!" Caesar says. "District Four, we have Jacklyn with a 9 and Maude with a 6," he continues. Most other people score anywhere from a 4 to a 10. "District Eleven, Meadow with a 7 and Alora with a 9," Caesar says. Everyone holds their breath as he moves on. "And finally District Twelve," Caesar says. "Addelyn scores a seven." "Good job Addelyn!" I tell her. Everyone cheers for her. A seven is good. "And Nikita with a," my face flashes onto the screen and then Caesar finishes with, " A seven as well!" The TV goes black.

"Good job girls!" Olympia exclaims, and everyone else claps for us. Addelyn and I smile at each other. I'm happy with a seven. After a little while Naima and our stylists exit the room. We all head off to bed. I think about interviews tomorrow.
