Cove Franklin - District Six
The interviews were pretty good. We arrive back at our floor. I change out of my getup into jeans and a black and white sweater. We all head into the kitchen, starving, as we haven't eaten dinner yet. "You two looked absolutely stunning!" The escort Arielle tells us. "You did," our mentor Ashlyn agrees. Hudson and I both smile. We continue eating dinner.
"Are you ready for the Games tomorrow?" Asks Ashlyn. "Yeah," Hudson and I say. After dinner, we're all hanging out in the living room. The TV is on. We all turn to it and stop talking when it flicks to President Aller giving an announcement.
"Hello, ladies and gentlemen. We have a very, very special message for you. We have decided to add a twist to the upcoming Games," he begins. We all look at each other. I wonder what it is?!
"The twist is there has been one person reaped from each district. It could be either male or female. Those twelve people reaped will join the Games and compete. We are postponing the Games, they will now take place not tomorrow but the day after that. Tomorrow will be used for the twelve people reaped. They will use that day to train. So that means the other twelve will get the day off. They can tour the Capitol, go shopping, go out to eat, it's a free day. Good night." The president finishes.
We all are silent. "That is just crazy," Ariella finally says. She gets up and walks off. "Wow. That's some news," remarks Ashlyn. Hudson and I are silent, still in shock. Twelve more tributes? That makes a full twenty four! I was looking forward to having only twelve tributes, it would've been more easier to win! Now what chance do I have? Do any of us have? What if the other tributes are really good?!
I turn my attention to the TV again, where they're showing the twelve tributes who got reaped.
District One - Marsh Hather, Fifteen
District Two - Drake Overa, Seventeen
District Three - Brooklyn Coachella, Seventeen
District Four - Noa Bennet, Thirteen
District Five - Griffin Polto, Fourteen
District Six - Dove Avers, Fifteen
District Seven - Ariel Payes, Sixteen
District Eight - Tate Illins, Fifteen
District Nine - West Kiels, Seventeen
District Ten - Coast Tikila, Thirteen
District Eleven - Willow Wespen, Thirteen
District Twelve - William Nelliet, Sixteen
Well with this big twist, I really wonder how the Games are going to go. I can't believe this. After that, we all silently retreat to our rooms. I sit on my bed with my head between my knees and start crying. I just know I won't make it far in the Games. I don't know if I can do it all over again. I can't go through it again.
Losing Ocean...it was the worst moment in my life. Actually, one of the worst moments of my life. The other was when my brother Theo died in his Games. I can't do it again. I can't lose someone else. I'm praying so hard that I find Cami, Sky, Holly, North, and Jacklyn. They make me happy. I need to find them.
