Trevor Twilight - District Three

The first day of the Games, my alliance and I walked down the dirt path between the trees. It was narrow and curvy and long, but eventually we got to the end. It lead us to what I think is the most beautiful place in the arena. I guess most of it is covered in dirt so it's not too pretty. The path lead us to a big lake with trees and rocks surrounding it. Nobody else was here so we stayed.

My alliance is Jay and Pierce from District Four and then Cedar from District Eight. We made our alliance during training. Jay and Pierce were already an alliance and then Cedar and I joined. We're doing pretty well so far. Having a lake right next to us helps. We can get water to drink and fish to eat. None of us know how to fish though.

"I haven't seen any animals yet," Cedar says. "Yeah me either," I agree. Both Pierce and I can use a dagger, so we were going to see if we could hunt and get food for us. But we haven't seen any animals to hunt down yet.

"Anyways can we have breakfast now? I'm starving," Jay says. "Sure," we all agree. Pierce gets some food out of his pack for us. He hands us each some apples and crackers. We begin talking about our game plan when we hear rustling coming from the forest.

We all stand up in alarm. "Guys what is that?" I ask. "Let's sit down it's probably nothing," Cedar says. We hear it again, this time louder. We stand up again. "See I told you it was something," I say to Cedar. I grab my knife and we inch closer. We're almost at the forest when four people step out, Dylan, Tucker, Hayden, and a girl.

What?!?!

"Why are you guys with a girl?! Why is she even here?" I ask. The girl looks down. "Please, can we not fight. We'll get out of here," Hayden says. I turn back to my alliance. "What do you guys think?" I whisper. "I don't know. Why the hell is a girl here?" Jay asks. "I was wondering the same thing," I say. "So was I," Pierce and Cedar agree.

"Okay we'll leave you alone but what we need to know is why a girl is here," I say, turning to Tucker, Dylan, Hayden, and the girl. "Well sorry but we can't tell you that," Hayden says. "Well why not?" Cedar asks. "We just can't," Hayden says again. "Well then we can't do our deal," Pierce says. Hayden opens his mouth to respond, but the girl steps forward.

"Hayden it's fine. I'll explain," she says, and then turns back to us. "Um, my name is Apple. Apple Aller. My grandfather is President Aller. They thought they should add a twist to the Games, so they planted me here," Apple explains to us. She steps back with her group. "Does that satisfy you?" Hayden asks. "I guess so," I mutter. "Good," Hayden says, and then him, Dylan, Tucker, and Apple walk off.

"Well that was great," Pierce says sarcastically. "At least we found out an alliance," Cedar points out.

Jordan Kervers - District Twelve

"My dad taught me once, I might remember," I tell Finn and Ashton. "Okay well here are the supplies." Ashton tosses them to me. "OK I'll try and get us some fish," I say. "Here I'll come with you to help. Ash you stay here and take watch," Finn says. Ashton nods, and Finn and I head down to the river.

It takes some time, but soon I have my first fish dangling off my hook. "Good job!" Finn tells me. I hand the rod to Finn so I can teach him. "One sec, let me get a sip of water," he says. I let my hand dangle in the river while I wait. A fish swims up and bites it. I quickly draw my hand back. "Did it bite you?" Asks Finn. "Yeah," I say. "I can fish till you feel better," suggests Finn. "Yeah okay, I'll teach you," I agree.

I tell him step by step how to do it. It's actually not that hard. He soon pulls it out and there's a fish on the end. "Good job, just the fish that hit me were a light pink colour so watch out for those," I inform him. He nods and succeeds in getting another fish. "Hey you're good," I say. "Thanks," Finn says. After a little bit, my hand feels better. Finn and I take turns fishing until we have a lot of fish. We head back to Ashton.

"Well we got a lot of fish," I tell Ashton, holding up the haul we got. "Whoa that's a lot," he comments. "Could you teach me how to fish?" Ashton asks next. "Sure let's go right now," I say. He stands up. "I'll start a fire and cook some fish for lunch," Finn says. We nod and make our way down to the river. It's not long before Ashton gets the hang of it. We only get two fish each because Finn and I already got a ton.

We walk back to Finn and by then the fish is ready. We sit around the fire to eat. "This is pretty good," says Finn. Ashton and I nod in agreement. "This will be a good way to get food from now on," Ashton says.

Later that night, Ashton and I head down to the river to get more fish. I let him catch most of them to practice fishing. Suddenly, we hear a scream coming from the forest. Ashton and I look at each other with wide eyes, then bolt up and sprint towards the forest. We get there as quick as we can.

We see Finn lying on the ground with an arrow through his chest. Ashton and I kneel beside Finn. I can't believe it. Finn is dead. The cannon goes off right then, signalling he really is.

"How did he even die?! While one person was fishing the other was looking towards the forest!" Exclaims Ashton angrily. "I don't know, maybe they shot the arrow from far away," I say sadly. Ashton hangs his head.

"I'm such a horrible person for saying this, but I mean it is one step closer to the big Games," I say. "I hate to agree with you but yeah, you're right," Ashton says. "I really wish he didn't die though," I say and Ashton nods.

We sadly walk away from Finn's body and begin cooking some fish. We sit down and start eating in silence until I speak up.

"It tastes better when Finn cooks it," I say. "I know right, it does," agrees Ashton. It honestly does.

That night when we see Finn's picture in the sky, we fall silent. I really miss Finn. I wish he didn't die.
