"How could you not tell me about him and then give him my location information?! Is this some kind of payback or some sort of joke to you? I don't want anything to do with Donny. I'm trying to get myself together and you allow him to enter our lives again?"
A fire I didn't know I had raged inside of me after meeting the man who walked out on my family and me twenty years ago. I was exploding, I could feel it, with everything that had taken place the past few weeks my exhaustion had developed into anger and I was taking it out on everyone in the process.
Not only had I'd been having issues with figuring out where I stood with Owen and troubles with school but my mother's birthday had just passed and now my father had appeared into my life out of nowhere as well. At this point, nothing surprised me anymore.
Once Donny revealed himself to me I knew exactly who had told him where I was and I was correct. I stood next to my car pacing back and forth expressing my anger on the phone with Angie.
She sighed on the other line, I could tell there was an underline of guilt in her voice, "Tiana calm down, please."
"Don't tell me to damn calm down Angie, I'm tired of being calm it does nothing for me but make things worse."
"Look Tia I'm just as overwhelmed as you are. I had no idea that Donny was even alive for crying out loud I haven't seen the man in over eighteen years but Jeremy called me yesterday morning saying that some strange man had stopped by at his house looking for me and left his contact information claiming that he was our father and that he finally wanted to see his little girls after all these years."
I listened to Angie through the phone keeping an eye on Donny who stood over by his car watching me in amazement.
"Next thing I know, he's at my condo a few hours later trying to talk with me and wondering where you could've been. I had to tell him where you were Tia, you are his daughter."
The line grew with silence as she stopped talking. I'm sure she could tell that I was still upset considering I had nothing to say.
"I planned to tell you before he showed up over there but he beat me to it... man he's fast." She chuckled trying to make light of the situation but I felt as if steam was coming out of my ears.
"I'm his grown daughter Angie, he doesn't have to know where I'm at."
"... I know and I'm sorry but he's there now so it's pointless to continue yelling at me." Her voice sounded apologetic.
"You're right," I mumbled mentally rolling my eyes.
I heard a loud noise through the phone as Angie sighed, "I'll talk to you later, I have to go chase your niece down for throwing her bottle again, dammit I miss when she couldn't walk." She said referring to Jayla.
"Alright bye," the call ended as I glanced back over at Donny to see that he was still watching me.
I knew nothing about the man but yet he reminded me of myself. From his hand gestures to the way he stood there was no doubt that I had come from him. I tapped my foot on the ground for a few seconds thinking before walking back over to where his vehicle was.
