Chapter 46
Tiana's Perspective
"What a plot twist you were."-Unknown
.......
IT was nice to have a sunny day for the first time in a week instead of dealing with the cold and rain. The weather had ultimately made my day better than it already was.
Certain things were starting to come together. I was caught up in all of my classes except for one that required me to write a fifteen-page paper for the end of the semester. I had about ten more pages to write and a serious case of writer's block but other than that my deposit and first month's rent were paid and I hadn't had a hectic work week.
Since the sun was out I wanted to take advantage of it. I sat outside my college campus at a table in an open area. Donny sat across from me trying to teach me how to play a game of dominoes. I wiped away a few leaves that had been placed in my lap from the wind as my hair blew every few seconds.
I was starting to regret sitting at the outside table for the sake of my bright peach sundress becoming stained.
I watched students walk in and out of a building in front of Donny and me minding their business.
"Tiana you're not even trying to learn how to play."
Donny had become too invested in teaching me this game. I wasn't even bothered with it but for some reason, he wanted to show me how to play.
"I got distracted."
In the midst of me watching him go over a few of the rules for the game, my phone notified me that I had a text.
I check the screen before listening to Donny again.
"Who was that?"
"You're so noisy," I said making him burst into laughter.
"You're right, I was just asking."
"It was Angie."
He nodded his head.
"I'll be right back, I need to call her about something."
"Alright don't be gone too long or we won't be able to finish the game."
I stood up from the table holding my dress up in the process, "only you want to finish the game." I joked.
I dialed Angie's number while walking over to an area vacant of people up under a tree. She picked up on the second ring.
"Hey Tia"
The sound of a baby crying blared into my ears making me instantly pull the phone away.
"Awe is that my Jayla?" I asked realizing the cries through the other side of the phone.
"Yeah, Daisy still isn't back yet." Angie sounded extremely annoyed.
"Damn, Jeremy can't help you out through the week for a little?"
