part 37

Mr. Cha woke up when he felt his wife move around. He looked at his wife who was wide awake, looking at something.

He followed her gaze and saw something that made his heartache.

Yeon was curled up on the cold floor with her head on her knees, wide awake.

She hadn't realized that they were awake yet.

"Yeon-ah? Isn't the surgery over?" Mrs. Cha spoke out making the girl flinch.

She looked at everything except their eyes and nodded.

"His surgery finished a few hours ago, You both were sleeping so I didn't want to disturb you both. He's fine but the doctors said that the bullet might have had poison or something so he'll take a few days to wake up." She said with a guilty and nervous tone, refusing to meet their eyes.

The elders gasped at the poison part but their eyes softened as they saw her tear-stained cheeks and little eye bags. They both knew that she was blaming herself for their son's condition was probably thinking that they would hate her.

Mrs. Cha made her stand up and caressed her hair. She held her chin softly and made the girl look at her.

"We don't blame you dear." She said making the girl immediately look at the older woman.

"You don't blame me?" Yeon repeated thinking her ears were playing tricks on her. Mrs. Cha nodded with a smile.

"Eunwoo is our son and you are our daughter. We are sad that Eunwoo got hurt but it was he who chose to protect you so how are you at fault?" Mr. Cha said while ruffling her hair.

Yeon's eyes started watering at their words and immediately hugged the two.

"Aigoo! Where is our strong Yeonie gone? Our Yeon doesn't cry." Mr. Cha teased the crying girl.

Yeon broke the hug and wiped her tears with a pout on her face.

"Now, Yeon go home. Change your clothes, have some food and then come okay?" Mrs. Cha said in a motherly tone making her nod and leave.

Yeon entered the Kims Mansion. She looked lifeless. She was happy that Eunwoo was safe and his parents didn't hate her but he still needed to wake up and she had to apologize to him for making him risk his life because of her carelessness.

She ignored her brothers' calls and went straight to her room. She entered the bathroom and looked at herself through the mirror. Her face, hands, and legs had dried blood making her feel disgusted and uncomfortable. 

She entered the shower and let the water clean her.

She washed her body and looked at the red water flowing down. She hated the fact that she had Eunwoo's blood all over her.

She quickly finished showering and got ready to go to the hospital again.

She went downstairs and saw her family having their breakfast. She quickly took an apple from the basket and drank her milk and was about to leave when she heard Jin talking to her.

"Aren't you going to school?" 

"You think I'll go to school when Eunwoo's on a hospital bed because of me? Hell no." She said dead serious.

She said and quickly left the Mansion making her brother sigh and shake his head. He knew he can't win against her stubbornness.

"What about the bullets?" Yeon asked a few of her men.

"We sent them for examination and the bullet had poison in them. The poison spreads easily and slowly kills the person who's hit."

Yeon nodded. 

"The men who attacked? Found their whereabouts and where they are?" She asked. When they were busy taking Eunwoo to the hospital, the attackers had managed to escape from there.

"They are a new rookie gang but since they are new, there aren't many members. We think that they work for someone and we have found their base."

"Good. They even had a dangerous bullet.  Not many use such. They should be working for someone bigger and dangerous than them. Find each and every single bastard in the gang and beat them up. I'll pay them a visit later on." She said and the men left.

"D'you think it's him?" She asked Mr. Cha who was standing behind her clearly referring to her uncle, Hades.

"I think so. He was smiling a lot during the event." He answered through gritted teeth.

"How did we miss this though? His every conversation is being monitored by us then how did we miss this attack?" Yeon said while rubbing her forehead in frustration.

"Maybe the attack was done by him but he wasn't the one who planned it."

"Argh!" The girl pulled her hair in frustration.

Mr. Cha patted her shoulder to comfort the girl.

"Yeon-ah your father has a meeting so, I should get going." He said trying to change the subject and the girl simply nodded with that the man left.

The girl raised her head and looked at Eunwoo who was peacefully sleeping though his body looked weak and pale.

She held his hand and caressed his hair.

"Idiot! Who told you to be heroic and take that bullet for me? What would I do if something happened to you?" She said softly and bit her lower lip trying her best to not break down.
