Explanation:
The whole time when the business bay was with Tommy, he wasn't exactly him for some time. Not only that he was put on execution date for breaking an important contract. He didn't want to see his father nor brother when he does get executed.
When Phil talked to Tommy alone, Tommy managed to snatch back control of his body, he was shock to see Phil. But before he can get them away, the others ran to him.
When everything went black, it meant that it was Tommy's time to die. Dream was exterminated by some unknown person for breaking a contract he made years ago.
In conclusion,
Both of the contract's punishment of breaking it is immediate extermination.
