"I don't know, Shawn," I sighed, running a hand through my hair as he took a seat beside me on the couch.

"Come on, baby, it will be fun, I promise! Please?" He begged, jutting out his bottom lip, batting his eyelashes.

"It's just that, I don't know them that well, and I don't want to feel left out," I explained, turning to Shawn as he sighed, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear, the pad of his thumb gently caressing my cheek.

"You wont, (y/n), I will make sure you're involved and it wont be awkward," he looked down at me, bringing his face closer to mine.

I trusted Shawn, hoping that when we met up with all of his old friends, I wouldn't just be tagging along.

"Okay, fine," I agreed, letting out a deep breath as he smiled a bit, bringing my chin up and connecting our lips.

He pulled away, grabbing my hands and pulling me up off the couch before grabbing at my thighs, swiftly picking me up and spinning me around as I laughed, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"I love you, I love you," he sang, kissing my cheek as I giggled.

"Wait," I stopped him, pulling away enough to face him, his arms still holding me up, "will Lauren be there?"

Lauren was Shawn's ex-girlfriend and every time we met up with his friends she always got a little too friendly with him. I trusted him of course, but not her.

"Yeah, I think so," he breathed, sighing a bit.

I got out of his grip and sat down on the couch, Shawn following close behind.

"Come on, baby, please? I've never done anything with her since you and I got together, and I'm definitely not going to start now!" He pleaded, taking my hands in his, "Please, princess, just trust me! I'm completely over her and nothing she could do, or say, would make me want her again."

I glanced up at him, a look of sincerity in his eyes as he stared back down at me.

"I know, baby, I trust you," I smiled, running a hand through his messy quiff as he giggled.

"Good," he smiled, "I love you way too much to hurt you like that."

He laid across the couch, his head resting in my lap, legs propped up on the arm rest, while I continued to run my fingers through his hair, helping him fall asleep.

The next day

Shawn and I walked in together and were greeted by all of his friends. I smiled at them and then I saw Lauren. My heart dropped to my stomach. She was so pretty and I instantly felt insecure.

"Hey, Shawn! It's so nice to see you again," she gave him a hug and took his hand, leading him into the living room with everyone else, not even making eye contact with me.

She sat down on the two-seater couch with Shawn while I sat down next to Brian, my arms crossed over my chest.

"Don't worry, Shawn's a good guy," he reassured me, probably sensing my jealousy.

"I know."

Throughout the night Lauren would try to make me jealous by touching Shawn as much as she could. Any time he said something, she would laugh like it was the funniest thing she had ever heard, and was constantly touching his arms and thighs.

I tried to brush it off, but what made me upset was that Shawn didn't even seem to mind, even after all he had said to me yesterday.

Shawn's friends decided to play Spin the Bottle. We all got on the floor and I just prayed Lauren would not get to kiss Shawn.

Unfortunately, it was her turn. She spun the bottle and it landed on Ian. A overwhelming sense of relief came over me and I sighed. But then, Lauren slightly touched the bottle with her finger tip, causing it to land on Shawn, sitting beside Ian.

"Oops!" She smirked at me.

She got up and moved over to Shawn as he tried to speak.

"Um Lauren I-"

She cut him off, her small, pink lips crashing onto his as I lost it, tears brimming my eyes at the sight.

I got up, pushing the front door open and stepped outside, continuing to walk down the street, in need of fresh air.

"(Y/n)!" I heard Shawn yell from behind me.

I ignored him and kept walking. He ran up and put his hand on my shoulder turning me around.

"(Y/n)," he called my name again, breathlessly.

"Save it, Shawn. I thought you actually meant what you said yesterday, but I guess not."

"I did! Yes, Lauren kissed me, but I didn't kiss back! I pulled away as soon as she put her lips on mine, but you had already left!" Shawn explained.

"Okay, well then how come you didn't do anything when she was all over you even before that? How come you let her flirt with you all night?" I cried.

"She did? I honestly didn't see it, (y/n), I'm sorry," his voice got quieter, taking my hand in his, playing with my fingertips.

"How could you not notice?" I pulled my hand away from him.

He looked at me, stepping closer, his hands cupping my cheeks, "Because, you're the only girl I notice."

I looked away and stayed silent.

He continued, "I'm sorry that I came here even though I knew Lauren would be trouble. I promise we never have to see her again! I promise that I will never pressure you into coming with me again. I'm sorry. If you don't want to be with me, then I understand. I just wanted to see the guys, thats all," his voice cracked at the end and he looked as if he was about to cry. He looked sincere this time and I couldn't let him go.

"I get it, Shawn. I know its hard, and you miss your friends. And I know you didn't make the first move with Lauren or anything like that. I'm sorry I doubted you."

"So, do you forgive me?" Shawn looked down at me and played with his fingers nervously.

I smiled, "Of course, baby."

He smiled back and picked me up and carried me to the car, placing a few kisses on my cheeks and forehead as I giggled, throwing my arms around his neck.

"I love you, princess, more than anything."
