"Come on, bud," Shawn held our five-year-old son, Gavin's hand, leading him to the top of the snowy hill as I sat down, sipping hot cocoa and watching my two favorite boys.
"Daddy, I'm scared," he whined as Shawn picked him up and carried him on his hip, holding the snowboard in the other arm.
"Don't be scared, Gav, it's lots of fun!" I smiled, before bringing the warm styrofoam cup to my lips, taking a sip of the hot drink.
Shawn turned to me kissing my forehead, flashing me a warm smile.
"See?" Shawn dropped the snowboard on the ground and picked up Gavin's hand, squeezing it gently, "Even mama agrees."
I stood up, looking at the little boy in my husband's arms, layers of clothing covering his body, along with a small blue hat, his cheeks turned a bright pink from the cold winter air.
"Come on," I kissed Gavin's puffy cheek as he smiled, his two front teeth missing, "you can do it, baby boy."
"Fine," he giggled, leaning out of Shawn's arms and kissing my cheek, still smiling.
"Let's go," Shawn pecked my lips once more before setting both Gavin and his snowboard down on the snowy area.
"Come here, little buddy," Shawn cooed as Gavin waddled towards him, his layers of clothing and snow gear making it a little hard to walk.
"Daddy!" He giggled as he fell down on his bum. Shawn chuckled and scooped him up in his arms, pulling the small hat over Gavin's eyes as he tried tugging at it with his small fingers, the two of them laughing hysterically.
"Lets snowboard, yeah?" Shawn chuckled, helping our son get fixed on the board.
"C-Can we go slow?" he looked up at Shawn, his big brown eyes filled with both fear and excitement.
"Of course, kiddo," Shawn patted his back before holding onto his body, carefully guiding him down the small, snowy hill, as Gavin cheered in delight.
"I did it, daddy!" He screamed excitedly as the reached the bottom, clapping his hands together.
"Yes, you did!" Shawn exlcaimed, his mouth open wide as he picked Gavin up, gently tossing him in the air as he squealed in delight.
"Can we go again?" He asked as I laughed, watching my boys screaming in excitement.
I smiled as Shawn came back to the top of the hill where I sat, his face glowing as he held Gavin's mittened hand.
"Go get set up, buddy, I'll be right there," Shawn kissed the top of his head, patting his back, before making his way over to me.
"You're such a great dad," I whispered, leaning up and pressing my lips against his, my hand resting against his chest, the kiss warming us up in the chilly air.
"And you, are such a great mom," he whispered, his warm breath fanning my face, the faint taste of hot chocolate resided on his lips as he kissed me again, before Gavin tugged on the end of Shawn's jacket.
"Daddy," he whined, "stop kissing mommy and let's ride our snowboards again!"
