"(Y/N)?" Shawn sniffled into the phone.

I immediately shut off the television, putting my feet up on the couch, my mind filled with worry at the sound of Shawn's sobbing.

"Shawn? What's wrong? Are you okay?"

"W-We broke up." He sobbed loudly into the line.

I felt my heart break into a million pieces for my best friend.

"Breathe, Shawn. It'll be okay." I tried to calm him as I searched around for my car keys.

"No, (y/n). I-It wont. I did something I t-told you I wouldn't." He quietly mumbled into the phone.

I stopped dead in my tracks, my breathing getting heavier as I held the phone against my ear, staying silent.
It felt as though time had frozen; all motion ceased.

"Shawn..." I breathed.

"I-I'm so sorry (y/n)." He choked.

"Tell me. Why?" I asked, shutting my eyes. The thought of Shawn hurting himself being too much for me to bear.

"She was my e-everything (y/n)! I would give up anything for her! My life isn't an exception!" He yelled, anger replacing his sadness.

"Oh god, please don't do anything Shawn." I begged him, running downstairs to grab my shoes.

"I have to (y/n). She was all I had. I'm useless now." He muttered.

I could hear the anger and sadness built up in his voice.
She had made him stronger; a better person. But he was about to throw everything away now that she's gone.

"Shawn. Don't move. I'm coming." I stayed on the line, getting into my car and racing to his house.
