Kittens

"Happy anniversary Sam!" Shawn sang, running into my room, smiling.

"Happy anniversary, baby boy." I smiled back as he pecked my lips gently.

"I have a surprise for you, baby." He told me, a big smile playing on his lips.

"What is it?"

He leaned over onto the bed where I was sitting, planting a small kiss on my forehead. He looked down at my hand as he took it in his, playing gently with my fingers.

"Come with me." He said softly, looking into my eyes.

"Where are we going?" I asked confused, as he led me outside and into his car.

"Come on, just trust me. You're gonna love it." He grinned.

The car ride was comfortably silent as Shawn held my hand, resting it on my thigh as I stared out the window.

Around ten minutes passed by before we finally arrived at out destination.

The pet shop.

My heart raced as I realized that Shawn and I were going to adopt an animal!

"Oh my god, Shawn. Are we getting a pet?" I asked, my grip on his hand getting tighter.

"You'll just have to see." He smirked back, stepping out of the car as I followed him.

We walked into the shop, hand in hand, as Shawn went to speak to the workers.

"Hi, I'm here to pick up a kitten for my kitten." Shawn told the woman, as he smiled at me.

I felt my cheeks heat up as I smiled and rolled my eyes at how cheesy Shawn was.

"Young love. I love it." The woman smiled. Her gray hair pulled up into a small bun, a dark lipstick on her mouth.

I giggled a bit as Shawn took my hand as we followed the lady to the back.

"Here's your kitten." She said, handing me a small gray and black kitten.

I took it in my hands as I gently pet it.
Giving it to Shawn, I smiled and thanked him.

"Hi! You're so cute, yes you are!" Shawn cooed, petting the small kitten in his large hands.
(A/N: Imagine how cute that would be because the kitten is so small and shawn's hands are huge😍)

"Take care of him, he's a keeper." The woman whispered to me as Shawn continued to play with the kitten.

I turned to face her as she continued to speak.

"He came here earlier to pick out a kitten for you, darling. He was telling me all about you. How perfect and amazing you are, and how much he loves you." She gushed.

I felt my cheeks heat up at what she had been telling me.

"He really said all that?" I questioned.

"Mhm," She nodded her head, "He's really in love with you."

I turned back to Shawn, smiling, as he continued to play with and talk to the kitten.
I laughed as he walked back over to me, placing a small kiss on my forehead, and pulling me into a hug. The lady smiled and winked at me.

Shawn pulled away and handed the small kitten back to me.

"Here's your kitten, kitten. Happy anniversary. I love you."
