'Elijah, I know you're angry—'

'Angry doesn't even begin to cover it,' Elijah cut her off as he walked through the compound frantically. He was trying to find a corner to hide away in, but Luna trailed his every move. 'Both of you have no idea what you've done. The damage you've caused—He's changed you beyond recognition.'

'What did you think was going to happen? I mean, you can't tell me you seriously believed I would just pack up and leave?' Luna argued back. Elijah stopped walking, but he didn't face her.

His back straightened, and he was silent for uncomfortably long before he turned to look at her. His eyes blazed with anger, and his face contorted into a snarl, 'I thought you understood what was best for the safety of your child, but clearly you don't.'

'Don't give me that bullshit. This was the only thing that would work. And it did, because now we know how to kill her.'

'We?' Elijah repeated, 'And what of the others who agreed to help you? What of Hayley?'

Luna rolled her eyes. She knew she was in the wrong, but she couldn't let herself admit it. The admission would open the floodgates to her guilt; she was desperate to keep it buried for one day,'You only care about Hayley because you're in love with her. If it were anyone else, you wouldn't care.'

His jaw ticked with the words, and he looked at Luna in a way he hadn't before. It wasn't anger, but immense disappointment. Luna had behaved in ways she shouldn't have, but the Mikaelson's didn't bat an eye because it was an act they'd performed countless times.

But this was different. Elijah couldn't rationalise or justify her actions, especially with her transparency. He shook his head, 'Cecelia deserves better.'

Her shoulders tensed hearing the words aloud. She glared at him for a moment, trying to decipher if there was any truth to them or if he was being spiteful. Either way, it wouldn't matter because the words were ingrained in her mind.

'Maybe,' She paused, taking a deep breath to shake off his previous comment, 'but I don't think that's our biggest problem right now. So, are we going to do this?'

Elijah glared at her, and she didn't look away. He was torn between her betrayal and the desire to rebuild his family.

He breathed deeply, his chest heaving, 'I pity you, Luna. Had my brother listened to me a hundred years ago, our circumstances would be very different.'

Tears pricked at her eyes, and her lips curled into a scowl. Elijah thought he might receive a futile apology that he wouldn't accept, but instead, Luna's jaw clenched, and the anger she carried resurfaced, 'Are you going to help or not?'
