Leaves crunched under Luna's feet and the sun flooded the dense woods, slipping through the cracks in the canopy above her. She'd slipped out quietly in the early morning hours and spent much of her time threatening Hayley's whereabouts out of Aidan.

She'd found herself stalking through the Bayou more times than she'd care to admit, and she'd grown accustomed to the environment out of necessity. Luna's only guide was her senses, which focused on pinpointing the location of a light rustling or distant footstep.

She paused in her tracks, a sudden unease washing over her that seemed to be a byproduct of being watched. She looked around carefully, searching for the anomaly in her surroundings. The woods seemed to grow still with her, the howling wind reducing to a whisper within a moment.

With a deep breath, she prepared to advance further and discard the noise as wildlife. The instant her food collided with the ground, she'd been sped in the opposite direction and pinned up against a tree. She groaned quietly, a bitter smile curling up on her lips, 'Why are you following me?'

'Whenever you leave the house you tend to cause trouble,' Klaus spoke matter-of-factly, releasing his grip on Luna but his feet remained planted in the same position, 'Consider it a preemptive strike.'

'Worrying provokes wrinkles,' Luna whispered through a sneer, patting his shoulder mockingly as she brushed past, 'I'm all good.'

'Right, you're just going for a morning stroll then?' Klaus raised his brows and Luna mirrored his expression, though a playful glint in her eyes was missing from his, 'Through the Bayou?'

'Sure.' Luna answered shortly before spinning around and walking away.

'And you don't happen to be tracking a rather large pack of wolves?' Klaus spoke up and his words froze her mid-step. Her silence and faint hitch in her breath affirmed his thoughts. Klaus' lips twisted into a smirk as Luna turned on her heel slowly, 'What are you up to?'

'I'm just here to talk to Hayley.' Luna spoke almost distractedly as if she were trying to listen to Klaus and the pack's movement simultaneously.

'You're leaving a lot to the imagination, Luna,' Klaus' eyebrows raised expectantly, but he cut her off before she could speak, 'If this has something to do with Cecelia-'

'Not everything I do is about her.' Luna spoke and Klaus narrowed his eyes at her, the only gesture he employed to call her out on her blatant lie.

'Then, enlighten me,' He gestured for her to continue, a smug expression breaking through the frown on his face. She folded her arms over her chest tightly, her silence enough for Klaus to continue, 'Ah, just as expected. Another lie.'

'I'm gonna try to get them on our side.'

'It won't work.'

Luna raised her brows at his response, drawing in a deep breath before feigning a calm response, 'And why not?' She spoke through gritted teeth, the frustration in her words palpable.
