Chapter 4

Sa daming tao na pwedeng maging kaibigan ni Mama ang pamilya pa talaga ni Kaizer-but luckily, he's nowhere to be found.

"Mukhang nasa ibang bansa na naman si Dan, ah?" tanong ni Tito Louis kay Mama.

"Sobrang busy sa trabaho, halos hindi na nga umuuwi dito sa bahay" kwento neto sa mag-asawang napatango naman.

I stayed quiet throughout our dinner, as much as possible I don't want to interact with them but when Manang served the last course of the meal. . .

"Ay, Ma'am wait lang po, may hinanda po kaming iba para sainyo" she said, which caught the couple's attention.

"It's okay Manang, thank you"

"May problema ba hija?" Tita Kacey asked with a worried tone.

"A-Ah wala po Mrs. Sylvester, I'm just allergic to corns"

They look worried and was about to say something but Mom decided to ask about the whereabouts of their son.

"Oo nga pala, nasaan si Kaizer?" Mom asked.

Tito Louis lets out a sigh of stress, "In the house resting, pagod na pagod sa basketball practice" he said whilst massaging his temples.

"I see," Mom replied with a smile, "well it can't be helped since he's the Captain, masaya nga ako at pumayag si Kaizer na sumali sa team considering his course" mom looks so excited and happy while talking about someone who's presence isn't even here. "I really think Kaizer will bring home the bacon in Creston this up coming olympics,"

Now that I think about it, I don't know Kaizer's college course-all I really know is that he's a walking red flag that is friends with a fucking energetic goof ball.

"Mukhang wala naman itong problema sa kurso netong Med" Tita Kacey replied to my Mom's statement which made my ears perked.

I almost let out a sarcastic chuckle-Med? sa itsura niyang 'yon med ang course niya? he looks nothing like a medical student, if he really is, then I'd be expecting a Chanel appearance. Anyway, do they even know that their son doesn't attend his afternoon classes?

"Louis is still furious about Kaizer's college choice, hindi namin inaasahan na mag re-rebelde ito," Tita said with a disappointing tone, "It would be better if he took law as his college course, hindi ko ba alam sa batang 'yon" she shakes her head.

I immediately looked at my plate when I noticed that I was getting too absorbed in their conversation.
Right, the Trosmez family is a family full of lawyers at mukhang si Kaizer lang ang nag medical field sakanila.

"You must be lucky Celine, you and Dan have Cyrena as your daughter" Tito Louis said while looking at me fondly like he knows me for years now.

I don't know if I'm lucky though. . .

"Well, she is Dan's daughter" Mom proudly said, clueless about my Dad's behavior towards me.

"We should have a dinner next time, kasama naman si Dan at Kaizer" Mom suggested. "It would be better for my daughter and Kaizer to have a good relationship with each other" for a second there, I saw how the three adults winked at each other. Acting suspicious every time Kaizer is mentioned.

"Mama naman" nahihiyang sabi ko, she still doesn't know that Stephen and I broke up but she's already setting me up with a guy I barely know.
