Chapter 12

It's already Tuesday Morning and here I am looking like a zombie from lack of sleep. I was suppose to study my topic last night but I can't get him out of my mind no matter what I do. . . his exact words are still haunting me, it keeps lingering in my mind.

Thinking back, I should have never responded to him. . .

Tahimik lang kami buong byahe pauwi ng bahay, none of us wants to talk and for me it feels uncomfortable. Kaizer still looks bothered, it's as if he wants to say something to me.

"Uh-may problema ba?" I asked, trying to break the awkward silence that was engulfing our whole car trip on the way home.

He gave me a smile. "May iniisip lang," Kaizer said, in a tone where it almost sounds like he's about to cry, "I'm sorry if I made you worry"

I shake my head lightly, "No, it's okay, I just noticed that it looks like you want to say something"

My eyes went on Kaizer's hand who gripped on the steering wheel before sighing, nag da-dalawang isip ito kung sasabihin niya ba sa akin. Ayaw ko naman itong pilitin pero hindi ko talaga maiwasang mag-alala.

"It seems like you're still bothered by Pierce"

"It's not about Vales" he took a deep breathe, he shakes his head "I know that you're still uncomfortable with topics about courting, so I just wanted to apologize about earlier,"

Seryoso ba 'to? 'yon ang pino-problema niya kanina pa?

"What? 'yon ang problema mo?" I can't help but to giggle.

But it took him a minute to respond.

"Yeah"

"Okay lang sa akin, mag tanong ka lang" nabigla ito sa sinabi ko, "I don't want to create a misunderstanding between us. . . kung may problema ka sabihin mo lang sa akin"

He nods his head, it's as if that's his cue. "Then, I wouldn't hold back" Kaizer looks at me, then back to the road. Tumango ako at hinintay ang itatanong niya saakin.

"Rene, what am I to you?"

Agad akong natigilan sa tanong niya, it was a question that even I couldn't answer, the feelings that I've been holding. . . it makes my heart beats fast. "I already told your friends offically that I'm courting you. . . alam na 'rin nila Tita" Kaizer sounds like a kid, better yet-he sounds like he's whining, which, weirdly enough, I find it cute. "Do you accept me as your suitor, Rene?"

It's so loud. . .ang lakas ng tibok nang puso ko, there's a loud ringing noise that fills my ear, hindi ako makatingin sakaniya ng deretso. My hands are also trembling and I can feel them starting to get colder.

"You don't have to answer, alam ko naman na hindi ka pa handa" sabi niya nang mapansin netong hindi ako makapag-salita.

"Handa akong mag hintay, just tell me when you're ready to open your heart again" he said, not taking his eyes off the road, but I know for a fact that Kaizer is also nervous to look at me . . . to see my expression.

"I'll always be here for you"

He genuinely smiled at me before parking his car in front of our gate, nandito na pala kami sa bahay.
