"Failed? Kaizer failed?"

I mean, it's The Kaizer Sylvester after all, he's an outstanding med student— I know my boyfriend better than anyone else, failing is the last thing that Kaizer wanted for himself.

"We were all surprised when our prof told Kaizer that he failed most of our exams," Akari continued explaining, "He's probably studying as of we speak"

My eyes grew wide in shock when I finally connected the dots. The reason why Kaizer seems bothered, why he has a lot of time taking care of me, and why he lied about their exam results.

"It's all because of me" I bit my lower lip. "Dahil sa akin. . . bumagsak si Kaizer dahil sa akin" in just a second, guilt finally took over my whole system. My boyfriend failed because of me, dahil mas inuna niya ako kesa sa exams niya.

"Cyrena," Akari reached out her hand to touch my shoulder, "it's not your fault. None of us expected this." her soothing voice isn't helping me anymore to stay calm.

I shake my head instead and looked at her directly in the eyes. "Bumagsak si Kaizer dahil sa akin! the only thing that will lead him to success. . . nasira lahat ng iyon dahil sa akin" my hands keep trembling and Akari noticed that. Unti-unti itong nag panic dahil sa akin.

"Kaizer left our classroom on that day just to see you," Akari said, gripping my shoulder, "He purposely failed every exam just to take care of you. It was him who decided to leave, hindi mo kasalanan."

I clenched my hand into a fist. "Leave."

"Hear me out, Cyrena, it's not your fault. Sinabi ko 'to sayo dahil may karapatan kang malaman. What Kaizer needs now is your support. Please, he needs your comfort" she begs, parang maiiyak na 'to sa nangyayare.

Akari is one of Kaizer's bestest friends, and probably the only girl in his circle, and it keeps me at ease knowing the my boyfriend's girl best friend is someone I know. She's a good friend, and I admire for that. If it wouldn't be for Akari, walang mag sasabi sa akin na bumagsak si Kaizer— no one will tell me that I just ruined my boyfriend's studies.

"Thank you, Akari. You can leave now" I forced a smiled amidst of everything.

I stood up from our seat and head towards the door. "Cyrena, wait! katulad mo ay nag-aalala 'rin ako kay Kaizer pero--"

Nakita ko si Janette na nasa labas ng library pag bukas ko ng pinto kaya nabigla siya. "Janette, guide her way out"

"Y-Yes, Ma'am Cyrena"

Akari called me out for a several times but I ignored her and went inside to my room just so I can organize my thoughts. She keeps telling me that it's not my fault, but the fact that he failed is still the same. Kaizer chose to fail just to see me, that idiot! why would we do that for me! I told him to prioritize his studies! We promised to each other— that no matter what happens, we will prioritize our dreams.
