I know for a fact that it's been two days after what happened between me and Killian who, until now, has never shown up before me. I don't think that's a good news or the opposite— I actually don't know what's happening, my mom. . . she's still unconscious, while Kaizer is still in the police station.

But he wouldn't waste his time sitting there. I know his nature, Kaizer would be back here to see me, in this hospital.

It's already 5:53 in the afternoon, and I haven't eaten anything today, but weirdly enough I'm still full to be sitting here beside my mom with no one to talk to. I actually think I'm going crazy this time. Like, legit. The door opens suddenly. And I think what I said earlier has answered my question. I am really going crazy right now to stare at a man-a familiar face who is now looking at me with a jolly smile.

Tall height, slim figure, brown hair that looks healthy as ever, perfectly ironed white dress shirt, black slacks, shiny boots, and a white pearly smile.

"Hi, Best Buddy, you look like a mess," he jests, still standing in the doorway. "Well— a hot mess, but you're still a mess. . . either way, you look like you need a shower," he covered his nose like I smell so bad. I blink not once, not twice, but thrice as I try to process everything. He swings his palm in the air. "Hello? patay ka na ba dahil nakita mo ang gwapo mong kaibigan? o sadyang nabaliw ka na talaga?"

Still, I can't utter a word which made him sigh. Pumasok na ito ng kwarto at sinara ang pinto bago lumapit sa akin. He stopped an inch away from me, carefully scanning my face, then my mom's, then back to me. He's looking at me with pity— that I deserve.

"God, Cyrena, the world has been so cruel to you. . . isn't it?"

And just like that, I broke into tears, clinging onto Jett like a baby that is lost. I can feel his palm on my back, trying to ease my pain just a little but it didn't work. It's as if I'm just waiting for someone to arrive and let my tears all out. Someone to rely on. Someone like Jett— God, I missed him so much. I missed his jolly smile, his irritating humor.

"J-Jett," I called. After 12 years. . . I've never thought I'd call out his name again.

"Hmm?" he asks.

"Jett. . . I can't take it anymo--"

"Hey," he cuts me off. "Damn," Jett hissed. "Best Buddy, please. Hold your shit together" his soothing voice engulfed my ears.

I can feel his body warmth. I can smell Jett's usual perfume-a scent of lavender, peppermint, and a little bit of masculine hint. His cold silver earrings touching my cheek. His warm and large palms on my back. And I can almost feel his heartbeat on mine. Jett is really here. He's here, but why? how? why now? what is he doing here? My friend is here. My idiotic friend is here in New York City.

"Are you feeling a bit better now?" Jett's voice suddenly turned into a bit more serious tone. Tumango ako at humiwalay sakaniya. He immediately wiped my tears with his thumbs and fixed my hair. I can see his watery eyes scanning my face. It's almost as if he's trying to find the old me-the old Cyrena. "Hot shit, Best Buddy," he hissed again and crossed his arms.

"I know it's been 12 years, but— damn," natawa ito nang mahina. "I now know why you got Kaizer wrapped around your fingers. . . anyway," tumingin ito kay Mama at tumingin ulit sa akin. "What happened?" he asked calmly.
