Chapter 50

I don't know for how long I've been sleeping here in Kaizer's office, but the only thing that woke me up is the sound of the door closing. I opened my eyes slowly and saw Kaizer tiredly taking off his white coat and throwing it on the other side of the couch before sitting on his black leather swivel chair.

Unti-unti akong umupo kaya nahulog ang kumot sa sahig, dahilan para makuha ko ang atensyon ni Kaizer na biglang nabuhayan nang makita akong gising.

"Morning, did you sleep well?" he asked with a soothing tone.

I blinked twice before checking my surroundings. Kaizer and I are the only ones here and it seems like I've stayed here longer than expected. "Do you want breakfast?" he asked again.

"I want to go home," I yawned and stood up carefully. "What time is it?"

Tumayo na 'rin ito at tumingin sa wrist watch. "7:23 in the morning. Why? do you have work?"

I nodded and grabbed the comforter from the floor before putting it on the couch. "How's Noelle?" I asked, still remembering what happened yesterday.

"Oh, she's already awake,"

Bigla akong natauhan at napatingin nang maayos kay Kaizer. "What!? you should have woken me up! where is she?" dali-dali akong nag lakad papunta sa pinto para lumabas.

"Still at the room. It's preferable if she would take this day off to rest"

I let out a sigh and opened the door. "I'll check on her first before leaving"

Habang nag lalakad papunta sa elevator ay inis akong lumingon agad kay Kaizer na nakasunod sa akin. Ngumiti lang ito at kumaway. "Aren't you suppose to be sleeping right now?" tanong ko sakaniya.

"Sleeping isn't in my vocabulary" he shrugged.

Hinayaan ko itong sumunod sa akin dahil siya naman mismo ang nag alaga kay Noelle kahit pa-paano. And besides, his conversation with Chanel is still bothering me.

Now I can't talk to him about the past. Ayaw ko naman itong pilitin na pag usapan namin 'yon dahil baka mas mapalayo ito sa akin. I want to know everything about what happened, but I just can't seem to find the perfect timing.

"By the way, what were you going to say yesterday?" Kaizer asked while we're inside the elevator. "It seems really important"

I squinted my eyes at him which made Kaizer nervous. "Next time nalang" I said and rolled my eyes. Narinig ko naman ang mahinang pag tawa neto kaya mabilis ko siyang nilingon. "May nakakatawa ba?" tanong ko dito.

"Nothing," he shakes his head lightly. "It's just that, I will have a reason again to see you" Kaizer said while smiling at me fondly like he used to. For a second there, I felt a sting inside my chest. Did he also smile like that towards Yuri? weirdly enough, that thought immediately ruined my morning.

"You are so annoying" I sighed.

Agad itong napasimangot. "I'm sorry," parang bata na sabi niya at yumuko ng bahagya, dahilan para matawa ako nang mahina.
