Chapter 31

"Cyrena! kumalma ka muna!"

I kept walking towards Kaizer's penthouse, not listening to Dove's words. I don't want to waste anymore time. I want to see Kaizer and ask him about what happened last night. Pinuntahan ako ni Dove sa Elite nang sabihin ko sakaniya na nakauwi na kami galing Baguio. Siya na rin ang nag hatid sa akin papunta dito kay Kaizer, pero hindi ko inaasahan na susunod siya sa akin.

The photo that Dove sent to me includes Kaizer and Yuri holding hands while in the corner of a dim room. Kitang-kita doon ang ngiti ni Yuri sa boyfriend ko, at alam kong hindi lasing si Kaizer habang nangyayare iyon. I know damn well he's fucking sober.

Hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko kanina habang nasa school bus. I don't know if I should cry, scream in anger, or feel disgusted. Hanggang ngayon ay hindi ko alam kung ano ang mararamdaman ko sa nalaman. My head still hurts, but what I need to do now is talk to Kaizer.

"Cyrena!" sigaw ni Dove sa likuran ko.

Tumigil ako sa pag lalakad at nilingon siya. "Thank you for driving me here, Dove. Pwede ka ng umuwi" sabi ko tsaka nag patuloy sa pag lalakad.

Hinawakan naman neto agad ang kamay ko at hinarap ako sakaniya. Dove's eyes are filled with anger while looking at me directly. "Cyrena, hear me out" she said, still holding my hands.

"I'm sorry Dove, pero kung ikaw ang nasa lugar ko ngayon, hindi mo rin mapipigilan ang sarili mo" sabi ko sakaniya at pilit itong nilalayo sa akin. "Please understand that I need to see him right now"

Umiling ito agad sa akin. "Calm down first. Don't face Kaizer yet, walang mangyayare kung kakausapin mo ito ng galit--"

"Dominique Vereena, mukha ba akong galit ngayon?" Dove was frightened, she didn't expect me to ask her that question. "I'm completely calm" I said before leaving her in the empty hallway alone. As soon as I arrived at Kaizer's penthouse, I immediately entered his passcode which allows me to enter inside.

Tahimik ang sumalubong sa akin sa loob. Halatang walang tao ang pumasok dito kung hindi ako lang. Dumeretso ako sa kwarto ni Kaizer at nakita ang mga damit niyang nasa sahig. Lumapit ako agad sa taong natutulog ngayon sa kama at tinignan kung siya nga ba talaga ito. I saw Kaizer's sleeping face while hugging a white body pillow. He's currently shirtless and the only thing that keeps his body covered is his black nike boxers and thick comforter.

I bit my lower lip and just stood beside him while letting my tears fall down to cheeks. I'm trying to hold back my sobs as I watch him sleep peacefully in his warm bed. All of my determination to ask him disappeared as soon as I see his face. Third time. . . it's his third time hanging out with Yuri. He's been caught by Dove two times and yet why can't I be mad at him? Why do I feel like blaming myself is the most naturally thing to do?

I don't know how long I've been crying, but I decided to clean Kaizer's body before cooking us our lunch since I'm sure once he wakes up he's going to be hungry. My eyes are still swollen as I clean his body with wet towels. Kaizer smells liquor with his usual dior suavage perfume, his scent is getting into my head.

"Hmm. ."

Natigilan ako bigla nang igalaw niya ang kaniyang kamay, para bang ayaw siyang hinahawakan. "Hold still." I said and continued wiping his body. Akala ko naman ay hindi na ito gagalaw ulit, pero nagulat ako nang mapatikhim siya at ilayo ang kamay sa akin habang nakapikit pa rin.
