Chapter 44

The meeting started and my eyes can't help but to glance at Dean who looks bothered by my presence, it looks like he didn't expect me to become his co-worker in the site. Noelle and the others doesn't seem to notice me and Dean's uncomfortable expression.

He's one of the enemies of The Sylvester Family, and I'm sure Dean already knows what happened between me and Kaizer in the past, which is why this is unsettling. Why do I keep running into familiar places here in Makati?!

"Do you have a question, Architect?" tanong nung financial director.

Doon ko lang napansin na nakataas pala ang kanang kamay neto. "Yes. It says here in your report that the estimated budget for the renovation is 5 million to 10 million pesos, and if I am to take in charge of this project, then I suggest for you to add another 1 million," seryosong sabi neto kaya naman nag bulungan ang mga tao dito sa loob.

Noelle lightly taps my leg. "Engineer, aren't you going to say anything? you were the one who protested the 5 million budget" she whispered.

Napabuntong hininga ako at tinaas na 'rin ang kamay ko. "I think 5 million is already enough to suffice the renovation," napataas agad ang isang kilay ni Dean sa sinabi ko. "I have already talked to a lot of trading companies who are willing to send over their products for us to try including the tiles, hallow blocks, lights, and many more"

"And the arrival date?" Dean asked.

"Tomorrow," I smiled confidently. "They will arrive tomorrow morning. Until then, I'd suggest to post-pone our meeting about the budget" Napatango-tango naman si Dean sa sinabi ko at sinensyahan yung financial director na ituloy ulit ang meeting. Si Noelle naman ay todo ngiti sa akin na para bang proud na nanay ko.

Ilang oras din kaming nag uusap dito tungkol sa renovation dahil hindi kami pwedeng mag sayang o mag ka-mali sa mga susunod naming gagawin. At dahil sa si Dean pa ang makakasama ko ay mas naging mabigat ang pressure na nararamdaman ko ngayon.

"Are you going to stay here, Engineer?" tanong ni Secretary Eve nang kami nalang ang natitira dito sa loob ng office room.

"Ah--"

Dean cuts me off. "We're going to scan the whole area and see if everything is going well," he said, giving me a side eyes.

"Oh, okay, then we'll go ahead for our next meeting. Let's go Director" pag-aaya ni Secretary Eve kaya naman sumunod sakaniya si Caleb na kumaway sa akin.

Kaming tatlo nalang ang natitira dito sa loob kaya tinignan na niya ako nang maayos. "Long time no see, Cyrena," he gave me a small smile which caught me off guard.

He's no longer the unreachable international student from before, his aura became more approachable now that it's just me and Noelle here. Maybe because we're going to be working together which is why Dean is trying to create a friendly atmosphere between us.

"Hi, it's nice to see you again," I smiled back.

Dean became more manlier and bolder than before. He's still taller than me and has this fair skin that almost beats snow white. His biceps are visible because of Dean's white cotton dress-shirt that compliments his body well. There's no changes in his face, he still looks flawless, almost look like a greek god.
