Director Davis told me that I should rest and take it easy for today. It wasn't because I'm his subordinate, but because I'm a woman who deserves pity from anyone after what happened this morning. I was against of leaving my Mom here, but I know deep down that I wouldn't be able to feel relaxed knowing that the two brothers are currently at the police station, waiting for me to pick them up like fucking kids.
"I'll be here tomorrow. . . I'm sorry for what happened today," I apologized to Director Davis who shrugged and snorted.
"You don't have to worry about your mother as long as I'm here. Please, be at ease, I will make sure to take care of her in your stead" And with that, I bid him goodbye and smiled at Director Davis.
Still feeling lost, I went out and looked for a taxi. Fortunately, I immediately found one and got inside of the car. I told him my agenda and sat here in the backseat like I was filming for a sad music video.
I couldn't even sleep properly and yet another problem has appeared.
Kaizer. . . I really wanted to see him. But what happened earlier was beyond and unforgivable. I would have never expected him to fight Killian inside the Hospital.
Nang makapunta kami sa police station na medyo malayo sa hospital, ay nag bayad na ako sa driver at lumabas agad para makausap ang dalawa. As expected, the police officers looked at me with uneasiness in their eyes, they must have heard what I did to the two brothers.
"Good Evening, is it alright to see the two men who arrived here recently?" I asked with the most polite tone I've ever done in my entire life.
The office gulped and fixed his cap. "You must be Cyrena Santiago," he said and raised his index finger to point something. "There they are. The both of them are waiting for you since morning"
I smiled and dragged my feet towards the other room where the two of them are seen glaring at each other while three officers are guarding them, making sure to prevent any ruckus. Kaizer immediately raised his head and locked eyes with mine, it's as if he has sensed my scent as soon as I entered the cold and plain room.
"Rene," his voice cracked, catching the attention of the men inside the room.
Killian jumped from his seat, handcuffs ringing with his sudden movement. "Cyrene! Please let me explain!" he screamed with despair.
Hindi nag patalo si Kaizer at tumayo na 'rin, dahilan para maging alisto ang tatlong pulis dito sa kwarto. I raised my hand to tell them that it's okay and that they would never do anything to hurt me, but the three of them remained conscious and alarmed.
"Rene. Rene? please look at me," I turned to Kaizer who looks helpless. "I'm sorry. I-I'm sorry,"
I let out a sigh with full of disappointment. "Can you please leave the three of us here? give me 5 minutes to finish my business," I asked the guards properly, which to my surprise they agreed. My eyes followed them as they went out of the door, finally leaving me with Kaizer and Killian who are still looking at me.
"I have visited the police station a bunch of times," panimula ko. "To visit Dan Vanciello—but I've never thought that a day would come where I would visit the two of you in such place!" sigaw ko, nag halo ang galit at lungkot. The two of them bowed their heads, guilty for what they did. "Sa tingin niyo ba biro 'to?!" my voice heightened. "Putang ina! nanay ko yung nandoon sa hospital! anong pumasok sa mga isip ninyo at naisipan niyong mag away doon!? mga bobo ba kayo at akala niyo nasa isang pelikula kayo!? ha!?" tears started to dominate my vision. "Sagot!"
