Chapter 18 - Pain

KW’s POV:

It’s has been a month since Officer Raven’s appointed Richard to be the new officer of Oversight Division here in the Philippines. At first Richard was thrilled about the news; it was a triumphant edge for him among his pioneers. Nevertheless, this type of title begets a formidable trade named AMANDA.

He started strumming his guitar. He’s on the rooftop of the Optimum Society News building, the camouflage of Oversight Division. He was sitting on the bench while looking at the darkness of the skies. “It looks like it’s going to rain”. He uttered with a heavy heart. The absence of star and the coldness of the breeze indicate that a bad weather is approaching.

“Seems like destiny lament its defeat” He snorted. Trying to suppress the pain inside his heart, then he breathe in, and let the cold breeze channel within the profundity of his sorrow, and as he breathe out, his loneliness burst into beads of tears as he started to sing.

It's nothing, it's so normal.

As he sang his misery, the memories of the past that lead him to this predicament invaded his thoughts.

Richard was waiting at Officer Raven’s private office, and while he waits, he remembered the day Officer Raven came back from Chef Jaden’s Island. He noticed that Officer Raven became very different. He became obsess in finding this particular person. Then he gave stringent rules against relationship within the grounds of Oversight. Thus, his manners with the enemy are monstrous. He’s now pitiless, ruthless, cold-blooded, brutal and most of all heartless. If there’s any conciliation, his relationship with Amanda, Richard and Robert manages keep still. 

 

“Good morning Officer Raven” Richard greeted him as he stood up to show courtesy.

 

“Good morning Agent Crow, sit down”. He said in resolve.

 

“Pinatawag kita dahil gustong putulin mo na ang kung ano mang namamagitan sa inyong dalawa ni Amanda”. He said in a straight forward command.

 

Richard was speechless; he was thunderstruck, caught off guard with Silver’s words. He looked like a child who’s caught in act of stealing candies. .   

 

“Tell me Richard”. Umupo siya ng tuwid, bago muling nagsalita. “Bakit hinahayaan mo si Amanda na mahulog ang kalooban sayo, kahit pa alam mong hindi mo naman masusuklian ito?” He looked directly at Richard’s eyes.
