Chapter 25 - Shadow Plate

RICHARD’S POV:

 

Council Raven, Amanda, Elliot Drake, and I, are having a conference meeting for a special mission. Council Raven was telling us all the details while showing some clips on the wide screen monitor, while we three are conscientiously listening.

 

MISSION CODE: SHADOW PLATE

 

“Professor Albert Miller a canadian counterfeiter, that set up a secret money printing operation capable of printing $200 million USD in counterfeit bills, in the year 2005, using a special metal plate for mass production of $100 note.”

“He was possibly the longest uncaught counterfeiter in history, until the Oversight grabbed him. He was imprisoned for two years before dying with cancer.”

 

“The metal plate is now under the possession of the U.S. Government; however, it was recently discovered there is another plate aside from the original one, a replica, which believed to be here in the Philippines.”

 

“The Oversight Founders agreed to gather a very special team to retrieve the missing plate”. Humarap na sa amin si Council Raven, lumapit kay Officer Drake at pinatayo ito.

“This is Officer Elliot Drake based in Oversight Division in Canada; he will be working with the two of you in retrieving the Shadow Plate”. Nakipagkamay ako sa kanya. While Council Raven introduce me to him. Hindi na siya ipinakilala pa kay Amanda dahil katulad ko ay direkta kaming nag rereport kay Amanda when it comes sa operations ng bawat division.

Nagpatuloy si Council Raven. “He was hand-picked by the founders, to deliver the shadow plate as soon as we retrieve it. While, Amanda here will lead the team, and gives the corresponding coordinates in where the plate may possibly be”.

 

“If you have no further question, were all done here”. Pagtatapos ni Council Raven.

Nag tagal pa kaming tatlo nila Amanda dahil ipinaliwanag pa niya ang mga posibleng lugar kung saan maaring matatagpuan ang plate. Base sa data record may mga ilang tagong ari-arian dito sa Pilipinas si professor Miller.

Nang matapos mapag planuhan ang lahat ay tumayo na kami upang umalis ng conference room. Then I went up to the Optimum Society News department to have some privacy. The Optimum Society News, one of the leading news publications and business magazine in the metro. I’m the operations manager for OSN and the head officer for Oversight Philippines division. The 32 storey building is divided into three parts. The vital facility of Oversight is hidden beneath surface of the building; the main lobby up to the 16th floor is sub-divided for OSN operation, sales, printing and distribution department, etc... And from the 17th floor up to the roof top is also sub-divided to condo units, I.T. Dept, decoy business department, and Oversight’s other prerequisite units. 90 percent of the employees are Oversight’s trained agents.

Ayoko munang bumalik sa office ko sa underground facility, ayoko ng istorbo sa mga oras na ito. I badly needed a drink. The pain in my heart is unbearable. Being near her yet feeling we’re worlds apart is suffocating. Parang kinakapos ako ng hininga sa sobrang sakit na nararamdaman ko.
