CHAPTER THIRTY:
Brooke got her diary ready just to prove to Monica that her and Jake are together and to show her all the things they have done together and things he had told her, Brooke knew there was going to be a reason why she had to write every little thing in her diary, she just didn't think it would be this. Brooke kept looking at her watch for the time and she was very nervous and anxious for Monica to arrive. Brooke had not heard from Jake and wasn't sure if she would until he came back to LA, she thought he was such a wimp and gutless to not face up to his deception.
Brooke heard a car pull up outside and looked out the lounge room window and being very careful not to get caught in the process. As she looked out the window she noticed it was the blonde that she had seen previously with Jake. Brooke could not believe her eyes, all along she was right, Jake lied to her time and time again stating that the blonde lady was Robert's wife, his mate that works at the recycle yard with him. She felt very stupid and foolish on how many time she believed his stories. Brooke heard a knock at the door and waited a few seconds before answering it. She took a deep breath to try and calm her nerves, she didn't know what to expect and what was going to happen, but one thing for sure she was going to stick to an old saying "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer" she thought to herself that this could turn ugly once Jake comes back from his holiday and faces the music.
Brooke opened the door "Hi! Come in, you must be Monica"
"Hello Brooke, Yes I am"
They both felt awkward "Come on through, we'll go and sit in the kitchen at the dining table, would you like a drink? Perhaps a wine or a glass of water? " Brooke asked Monica
"I'd love a wine"
"So would I" replied Brooke
While Brooke was pouring the wine she couldn't help but think of some of the resemblance Monica had to herself, obviously Jake goes for blondes with long hair, tanned skin and not overweight, she did notice Monica had larger hips she was more pear shaped, but still quite attractive. Brooke came back over to the table and sat accross from Monica.
"Can you believe all this?" Brooke said
"Yes I can believe it, this is not the first time he's done this to me!" Monica said
"Your joking, how many times has he done this to you?"
"Twice now"
"And you forgave him?"
"Unfortunately yes, it's a little complicated"
"How so?" asked Brooke
"Well, I am married to his best friend and I am still with my husband"
"Oh, so your cheating as well?" Brooke said
Monica did not like hearing that at all.
"I have my reasons"
"Who's the best friend, what's his name?"
"It's Rick"
"Don't tell me it's the same Rick that plays in the band with Jake?"
"Well they don't play professionally, but they are in a band"
Brooke was confused "What do you mean they don't play professionally?"
"They used to do gigs around the area at the local bars, but they haven't done that in over a year, the last one was at JC's" Monica told Brooke
"Another lie from Jake, he's been telling me lies from the very beginning of our relationship, he told me he plays as a duo nearly every Friday night and sometimes on a Saturday and Sunday night , with your husband Rick, who Jake claims to be his best friend!!, but if that is your best friend you certainly don't cheat and have an affair with thier wife!"
