Chapter Eleven

CHAPTER ELEVEN:

Friday night arrived, Brooke had had a busy week with work, kids school and their afternoon sports, she was glad the start of the weekend was finally here. Crystal was staying home that night as well, she wanted to meet Jake which Brooke was excited about.

Lauren and Dillon had their dinner and showers and were watching The Simpson's. Brooke and Crystal were chatting about their week while having a glass of wine, which helped them to unwind from the busy week. It was getting close to 8.30pm so Brooke decided to tidy the children's bedroom and turn down their beds before they go to bed.

"Okay kiddies time for bed"

"Ah do we have to"

"Yes you do, we have a big day tomorrow, remember were going to the Zoo with Crystal and Caroline, so you don't want to be tired for that" So off to bed they went.

"Goodnight Crystal" they yelled down the hall

"Goodnight sleep tight" replied Crystal

Brooke gave them each a big kiss and hug "Goodnight, love you"

"Goodnight love you too"

So Brooke walk out of their room closing the door.

"Thank god that's done, now I can sit down and relax" she said that confidently but was feeling very nervous.

A few minutes later there was a knock at the door.

"Oh my god! his here" with that Brooke jumped up quickly, glanced in the mirror in the hall and then opened the door.

Jake stepped inside and gave Brooke a kiss hello, he didn't come empty handed either he had two bottles of wine with him as well.

He followed Brooke into the kitchen where Crystal was.

"Crystal this is Jake"

They shook hands and did some small talk.

"How about we all go into the lounge room, I will open up a bottle of wine"

"Great idea" replied Jake.

Brooke brought out three glasses and the wine along with some snacks.

"So how was rehearsal?" Brooke asked

"Yeah! Good we are all set and ready for Sunday's gig"

"What time are you playing?"

"3.00pm until 6.00pm"

"Crystal and I should come and watch you"

"Oh I don't think that is a good idea, I get too nervous and distracted when people I know are watching me, I really would rather you don't"

Brooke thought that was a bit odd, but just shrugged it off.

"Oh okay then, we are going to Triple 888 bar which is just down the road from where you are playing. We go there often on a Sunday afternoon when I don't have the children, I promise you I won't come over to see you at JC'S"

They drank wine and talked for hours. Crystal went to bed about an hour before and it was 12.30am, it was getting quite late. Jake decided it was time for him to go, as he had to get up early for work as Saturday's was one of his busiest days.

Brooke was actually grateful as she too was getting up early to take the kids to the Zoo.

She walked Jake to the door.

"Thank you for coming over and also for the wine"

"You're welcome I enjoyed myself, Can I see you on Sunday night?"

"Sure I will be out at Triple 888, if you want to come and meet me there for a drink"

"Okay I will, I am not sure what time as I will probably be at JC's until about 8.00pm, once we pack up and then have a drink"

"No problem I'll see you after that, I'm usually in the sportsbar listening to the live music there".

With that he gave Brooke a long lingering passionate kiss goodnight and then left.
