CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE:

The day had finally arrived that Jake was arriving home today, he's flight was due in at 6.30am in the morning. If Brooke hadn't heard from him by 1.00pm she was going to call him herself, or better still go around to his place unannounced, which at one time she would never have done that, but due to the circumstances and the anger inside her she had nothing to lose. It was 7.00am and Brooke sat on her bed thinking about what she was going to do while waiting for Jake to call so she opened the drawer of her bedside table, just on top was a small little photo album which had photo's of her brother's wedding and also photo's of Jake and Brooke together on the day, she opened up the album and started flicking through the pages and came accross a photo of her and Jake, she was staring at the photo and thinking just how happy they looked together, she took the photo out of its sleeve and wrote on the back of it she wrote "Love is like a dying amber only memories remain" and that is all she had, and the memories weren't the best ones to remember, she held the photo against her broken heart as a tear started to trickle down her cheek. She then put the photo back in its slip and closed it up and placed it back in her bedside table drawer. She then came accross a book she had recently bought "He's just not that into you"

Brooke started to read it and was flicking through the chapters and was reading the ones that most suited her situation, everything she read that was in the book was exactly how Jake had been treating her, why hadn't she bought this book sooner and read it she thought, but in all reality it was all common sense and she knew that the way he had been treating her certainly wasn't the right way and she really didn't need to read the book to see the writing on the wall, but at least she had somebody else's opinion which did mean somehting to her and that she wasn't paranoid after all.

She looked at her clock beside her bed and it was 9.30am and still no phone call from Jake. She went and made herself a cup of coffee she looked at her cellphone just in case, but no, there were no missed calls. She continued reading her book, she was getting a little restless so she then started to tidy up and have a shower, she needed to go to the supermarket to get some groceries. After she went to the supermarket she decided to have a quite coffee at her local cafe and started browsing through her gossip magazine that she had just bought, she went straight to the horoscope section and looked up Pisces, the usual stuff was written in there along with her lucky numbers and how wonderful her love life is, "Bullshit! Bullshit!" she thought. She paid for her coffee and went home, it was now 12.30pm and Brooke just couldn't wait any longer so she unpacked the groceries first and then sat down at the kitchen table and dialled Jakes number, as expected it went straight to voice mail "Hi Jake, it's Brooke! When you get a chance can you give me a call" then she hung up, there was no point in ranting and raving over the phone that will get her no where, all she wants is for him to call her and talk to her about what he's done to her, she also wanted to hear it from him and see him in the flesh, face to face.

Brooke was getting anxious waiting, an hour had passed and then her cell phone rung the caller ID showed it was Jake, her heart dropped.

"Finally!" Brooke said yelling down the phone

"Hi, how things?" Jake asked

"It could be better, is there anyway you can come over and see me? I need to talk to you and I'm sure you know what about! I think you at least owe me that" Said Brooke

"Sure, do you want me to come over now?"

"Yeah, that would nice, I guess I will see you soon then" and then Brooke hung up.
