CHAPTER EIGHT:
It was 5.30pm Friday afternoon and for some reason Brooke was writing in her work diary the day she met Jake and also when they were going to go on their date. She had never before felt like she wanted or needed to document things down, usually it was only work stuff.
She had gone home early that afternoon so she could finnish off her sales orders and have enough time to get ready for her big date instead of rushing.
Crystal arrived home and she also was going out. She had finally accepted an invitation to dinner from Mitch and she was a little excited and nervous.
"I hope I am doing the right thing going out with Mitch" Said Crystal as she poured two glasses of wine for Brooke and herself.
"Of course you are, if you decide tonight that you just want to remain friends then so be it, he won't be upset it's only if you string him along. You'll never know if you don't go."
"I guess so"
"Your just too busy thinking about Hank! Forget him if it's meant to be, it will happen, but please don't deny yourself from going out and meeting someone else"
Time was ticking by so Brooke went off to get ready, she jumped in the shower and washed her hair and used her favourite body wash "Versace Woman" she always got compliments when she wore the perfume to match and she wanted to smell irresistible to Jake. When she got out she put on her sexy underwear and robe and started to apply her make up. After she was content with her mask as she would sometimes call it, the foundation along with all the other makeup items it did do a tremendous job in covering up any flaws she had on her skin, she very rarely ever went outside without make up on, .she always liked to look her best. She then started the tedious task of blow drying her hair. Once that was done she started to get dressed.
She put on her favourite 3 1/4 skinny jeans and a white strapless top with a torquoise belt and matching jewellry, shoes and handbag.
There was a tap on the door and it was Mitch he came to get Crystal, she looked fabulous in her outfit.
"Have a great night!" Brooke said to Crystal and Mitch as they were walking out the door.
"You too!" replied Crystal
"Bye!"
Brooke sat on the lounge waiting for Jake, five minutes later he arrived, she grabbed her bag and opened the door. He was wearing dark denim jeans and a light blue shirt. He looked and smelled gorgeous.
Jake opened the passenger side door for Brooke, "What a gentleman she thought" then he hopped into the drivers seat and off he drove.
Jake took Brooke to a very popular Italian Restaurant called "Caruso's" located in a nearby suburb. They ordered their meals and then chatted about life in general and Brooke decided to tell him about her two adorable children. He told her he had once been married himself to a local girl. They had bought a house and everything was fine for a couple of years, but then things started to change. One day he noticed she started doing strange things for example constantly washing her hands, getting paranoid when she left the house to go to work she'd then want to go back home to check that she had turned the iron off, even though she had checked it before she had left the house. Their marriage was going down hill fast, it got to the point they were arguing all the time as well, her condition was beginning to get worst, so he ended up having her admitted to a mental hospital, due to her unstable mental mind. I felt sorry for her, I couldn't believe what he did, he did however convince her that she was mentally sick and needed treatment.
The time was going so fast before she knew it their main meals had arrived, Brookes meal looked and smelt delicious it was canaloni and Jake had ordered fettacinni marinara. They were drinking a really expensive bottle of chardonnay which was one of her favourites and it went perfect with the meal.
While eating their meals Jake started to tell Brooke about his band and how he did several gigs around the area, mainly on a Friday night and sometimes on a Sunday afternoon.
"How come you are not playing tonight?"
"There is only two of us in the band, which is my best mate Rick, he also plays the guitar, he is married and has a little boy who is three years old, so we try not to book ourselves every weekend so Rick can spend some time with his family, hence why I am not playing tonight".
The dinner was great and it was getting late so they decided to go, Jake had just pulled outside Brooke's place "Thank you for a lovely evening, I really had a great time"
With that Jake lent over and kissed her passionately , his soft lips touched hers and sent a warm fuzzy feeling inside of her, she now knew what the saying meant there were "Fireworks", she certainly didn't want this to end.
As she gently pulled away, he told her he had a great night as well.
"Can I call you during the week to catch up again?"
"That would be nice" with that Brooke got out of the car and was practically skipping up the footpath.
She got to the front porch and turned to give Jake a wave goodbye, once he knew Brooke was safe inside he then drove off into the night.
It was 11.30pm by the time she got in, Crystal was not home yet so Brooke decided to got to bed. The kids were coming back tomorrow early and she wanted to be fresh for when they cam home.
