Sora piloted the Gummi Ship through the Stardust Sweep to an enchanted castle in the midst of a dark forest. The three entered through large doors into a dimly lit and empty hallway.
"Hey, what is this place?" Sora asked.
"It's huge!" Donald said.
"And sorta gloomy, don't ya think?" Goofy asked.
"I wonder who lives here," Sora said. A loud familiar roar rang through the castle.
"Hey, does anybody else recognize that?" Goofy asked. They heard another growl.
"Hey! That's the Beast!" Sora said.
"Yeah," Donald said.
"Maybe we should check up on him," Goofy said.
"Look!" A Shadow Heartless sneaked across the floor into the Parlor.
"C'mon!" Donald said. The three ran to the room. Donald peeked around the doorframe.
"Where did it go?" Donald asked. His eyes met a mysterious glowing rose under a glass case sitting on a table in the corner of the room. He walked over to it when the Shadow popped out of the ground, snapping Donald from his trance.
"Found it!" Donald said. Many more sprung up and surrounded them and Sora got out his Keyblade. They tried to fight them off, but more just kept coming.
"Aw, c'mon! Enough already!" Sora said.
"Somebody help us!" Donald said. The doors slammed open and the Beast walked in with an angry scowl on his face. Sora, Donald, and Goofy looked hopeful. The Beast knocked away the Heartless that attacked him and growled.
"Just in time!" Sora said. The Beast walked over to the rose, knocking the trio away. He clenched the rose glass, almost fondling it, and walked out of the room. Donald, Goofy, and Sora watched him leave. Donald rubbed his head.
"Gee, do ya think he maybe forgot who we are?" Goofy asked.
"With this many Heartless around, something must be up," Sora said.
"Why'd he have to do that?" Donald asked. The three left the room, but Donald stopped.
"What is it?" Sora asked.
"I just know I saw a lady at the top of those stairs..." Donald said. They looked up to the long staircase branching to the east and west.
"Well... If the Beast is here in the castle, that lady musta been Belle, right?" Goofy said.
"Yeah, maybe so. Belle might know what's happened to the Beast, too," Sora said.
"C'mon! Let's go find her!" The trio ran up the stairs into the East Wing. Sora turned around and put a finger to his lips.
"Shhh!" he said. Goofy clasped his hands over his mouth. They sneaked closer to the door.
"What am I going to do?" Belle asked. Sora pointed to the door quietly. Donald and Goofy nodded. Donald stepped back from the door.
"Okay," Donald said. He got ready to run.
"Donald!" Sora said. Donald blasted through the doors.
"Hey! Who opened the door?" Donald said.
"Oh, I'm so happy you're here!" Belle said. Belle grabbed Donald and hugged him.
