There was a flash and Sora and Yui opened their eyes to find themselves in an artificially lit world. Digital strips lined the edges of the landscape as Sora scanned his attire.

"What? This outfit... Hey, I know where I am!" Sora said.

"Huh?" Yui asked.

"Hey, how come your clothes haven't change?"

"Remember? I'm half Spirit, half Nobody. Both of them can't change their attire that easily."

"Oh."Sora looked up to see an enormous flying machine, its core giving off a bright light. The Recognizer pulsed with energy as it soared above the city.

"Whoa! What is that?" he said. Sora and Yui ran through the city in an attempt to catch up to it. The Recognizer Sora and Yui chased eventually hovered to the ground and lowered its passenger bay. A group of Black Guards stood at the ready.

"Whoa!" Yui said.

"Oh man!" Sora said. The Guards saw Sora and Yui and walk toward them.

"Identify. State your handle, program," the Black Guard said.

"Huh?" Yui asked.

"I, uh...don't have any handles, but the name's Sora! And that's Yui!"

"Verifying handle 'Sora'... Handle not found. Verifying handle 'Yui'...Handle not found. Stray programs recognized."

"I'm sorry, what?" Yui asked. The Black Guards grabbed Yui and Sora, who struggled.

"Hey! What the hell?" Yui said.

"Isolating for quarantine," a Black Guard said.

"Whoa there! That is so unfriendly!" Sora said. They managed to break free and ran back into the city. Meanwhile, Riku, Roxy, and Rumi appeared in The Grid and stared down at himself.

"My clothes... Is this world special?" he asked.

"Well duh. Why else would your clothes change?" Roxy said.

"How come your clothes haven't changed?"

"Half Spirit, half Nobody. Well, half Heartless for Rumi."

"Right." Riku and the girls looked up at a flash of light.

"A Dream Eater?" Rumi asked. A Recognizer landed near them.

"No... Let's see how this plays out," Roxy said. Two Black Guards exited the Recognizer as it lowered its passenger bay. Four more came from behind Riku and the girls and surrounded him, grabbing them by the shoulders.

"Hey, what gives?!" Roxy asked.

"More strays," the Black Guard said. Riku and the girls conceded, releasing their grip, and walked to the Recognizer. After it took off, the ship flew through the digital airspace. Riku and the girls stood in place aboard the ship next to another man.

"Are you prisoners?" the man asked.

"Yeah. It looks that way," Rumi said.

"Name's Sam."

"Roxy."

"Rumi."

"I'm Riku. Where are we, Sam?"

"We're on the Grid." Riku and the girls were transported to the Game Grid, a long multileveled playing field. He and the girls stood along a spacious lined raceway.
