Warnings: More Dark Road

Rating: SFW

"There are several ways to travel between worlds. To ensure your safety, you will be donning armor that wards off darkness, and your Keyblade will become a vehicle for travel" Master Odin said.

Eraqus, Xehanort, and Hermod arrived in an oasis of a desert world.

"Did we make it?" Eraqus asked.

"Looks like it," Xehanort said.

"This doesn't look so bad," Hermod said. Suddenly, a group of Bandit Heartless appeared behind them. They whirled around and Hermod summoned his Keyblade.

"Guess I was wrong," he said. Eraqus also summoned his Keyblade, though less enthusiastically.

"We just got here!" he said. Xehanort drew his blade as well

"They've gotta be Heartless," he said. The three of them attacked and defeated the Heartless.

"Not bad for our first battle," Xehanort said.

"Yeah, but we need to stay sharp," Eraqus said.

"I hope the others are okay," Hermod said.

"I'm sure they're fine. For now, let's focus on finding some clues," Xehanort said. Leaving the oasis behind, they entered the city of Agrabah.

"Notice anything weird?" Eraqus asked.

"Yep," Xehanort said.

"Where is everyone?" Hermod asked.

"Maybe no one ever lived here," Eraqus said.

"I doubt it. Look at the buildings. Maybe living beings are restored last," Xehanort said.

"So this world isn't complete yet," Hermod said.

"Were there monsters in the world you came from?" Eraqus asked. Xehanort shook his head. "Hmm, so when a world is rebuilt, the residents are the final step. Until then, monsters roam as free as can be."

"Are they the Heartless the Master told us about?" Hermod asked.

"That's a good bet," Xehanort said.

"There are two types of Heartless, right?" Eraqus asked.

"Emblem and Pureblood Heartless" Hermod said.

"Okay, but the Emblem Heartless existed in future worlds projected by the Book of Prophecies a long time ago. So why are they here?"

"Good point. Maybe it's a clue," Xehanort said.

"Do you think the Heartless attacked the missing students?" Hermod asked.

"Possibly." Eraqus put his arms behind his head.

"But these Heartless weren't that strong," he said.

"Maybe not the ones we fought," Xehanort said.

"Now I'm really worried about the others," Hermod said.

"Let's try to gather more information. We'll head back once we find something." Hermod and Eraqus nod. They continued fighting Heartless in Agrabah. After the last fight, Hermod dispelled his Keyblade and sat down.

"See?" Xehanort asked.

"See what?" Eraqus asked, cockily. Xehanort dispelled his Keyblade.

"I told you there were stronger Heartless around," he said.

"What? You call that strong?" Eraqus laughed as he dispelled his Keyblade.

"Yeah, I do," Hermod said.

"But we handled them just fine."

"WE did, but the missing wielders were all on their own," Xehanort said.

"What would you do?" Eraqus sighed.

"If what?" Hermod asked.

"If you were alone and came across those monsters," Eraqus said.

"Run."

"Right," Xehanort said.

"Exactly. Some would run, and some would fight. So even if they were alone when they encountered some of these Heartless, I doubt that these monsters are the reason why they ALL disappeared," Eraqus said.

"Good point."

"But what if there are even stronger monsters out there? Ones you can't run from?" Hermod asked as he stood up.

"Come on, seriously?" Eraqus asked.

"You never know," Xehanort said.

"Then I'd run faster than I ever have before," Eraqus said.

"Of course you would." Eraqus laughed along with them. Later, they returned to Scala ad Caelum, finding the other three waiting at the bench.

"You're back already?" Eraqus asked.

"We just got here," Urd said.

"Bet you got scared and ran."

"Huh?" Bragi asked.

"That's YOUR M.O.," Hermod said. Vor laughed and Xehanort joined them on the bench.

"I'm glad everyone's okay," he said.

"We ran into Heartless," Vor said.

"So did we."

"But no sign of any actual people. Or Spirits!" Bragi said.

"You really want to find one, huh?" Eraqus asked.

"It's like finding a mermaid!"

"You know, those don't exist, right?" Hermod asked.

"THEY DO TOO EXIST!" Bragi exclaimed. Everyone laughed at Bragi's little outburst.

"Were the Heartless strong?" Eraqus asked.

"Yeah..." Urd said. Vor sighed. "I hate to say it, but I'm not sure even an upper classmen could've taken them on alone."

"What now? Should we report our findings to the Master?" Vor asked.

"No way," Eraqus said.

"Huh?" Urd asked.

"I agree. Let's not," Xehanort said.

"So what do we do? This mission is pretty dangerous, you know," Bragi said.

"We're Keyblade wielders, right? We see a Heartless, we take it down. We can't just run when things get rough," Eraqus said.

"The Master taught us all about the Heartless...and how much of a threat they pose. The students who went missing knew what they might face and undoubtedly prepared for it," Xehanort said as he leaned forward on the bench. "So what about us? Can't we do the same? Don't we have the same determination and drive?"

"We do, and you're right. But if any of you feel like you're in real danger, run. Don't turn around, don't wait for the others. Run like the wind!" Eraqus grinned.

"Eraqus..." everyone said. Vor and Hermod laughed as Urd, Bragi and Xehanort shared a smile. Later, they regrouped for another mission.

"Let's try to find a solid lead this time," Urd said. Everyone nodded in agreement.

"Should we change groups?" Hermod asked. He and Bragi switched places.

"All right! Round two," Eraqus said.

"Just so I know, you weren't joking about running from danger, right?" Vor asked. Hermod elbowed Eraqus jokingly.

"Come on, Vor. Running away is what Eraqus does best!" he said. Everyone laughed.

"Be safe. We'll meet back here soon," Xehanort said. Everyone nodded and they donned in their armor again.
