You and the twins returned to the tower, Rumi following close behind. You entered the room and saw Yen Sid and Xemnas talking to Sora and Riku.

"If we are ever to strike down Xehanort, we need the individuals King Mickey spoke of in his letter. We must lead them out of sorrow and slumber, and back to our world. To do so, seven Sleeping Keyholes must be found and unlocked, and a great power retrieved. As you know, every world is walled off from the next, preventing travel between them. In the past, you could bridge these gaps because the walls were broken, or because you could open special Lanes with your Keyblades. But your new goals, the 'Sleeping Keyholes,' are harder to reach. You'll recall, in your first journey, that you brought many worlds back from the darkness–but some never returned completely. They still sleep, cut off from all outside channels. Not even the Heartless can enter," Yen Sid said. He waved his hand and it glowed with a white aura.

"But these Sleeping Worlds are said to have their own manner of darkness," Xemnas said. The small image of a dog-like creature appeared on the wizard's desk.

"They are called 'Dream Eaters,' and there are two kinds– 'Nightmares,' which devour happy dreams–and benevolent 'Souls,' which consume the Nightmares," Yen Sid said. A lighter-colored version of the creature appeared beside it. It pawed the air cutely and rolled over.

"The Dream Eaters will guide you, just as the Heartless once guided you, to the Keyhole you seek at the heart of each world," Xemnas said.

"Hope we're not interrupting," Roxy said as you and the girls walked over to them.

"We were just finishing," Yen Sid said.

"Is that...?" Sora asked.

"Yep. Say hello to our cousin, Rumi," Yui said.

"Hi," Rumi said softly.

"Hi. I'm Sora and this is Riku, Donald, Goofy, and King Mickey."

"I think you're forgetting someone," Xemnas said.

"Uncle Xemnas!" Rumi said.

"Where's my hug?" Rumi ran up to Xemnas and hugged him tightly.

"I thought that I might never see you again!" Rumi said.

"I thought the same way. But now, we have a chance to bring everyone back," Xemnas said as he pulled away from the hug.

"As in...bring mom back?" Yui asked.

"Possibly. I can feel the bond between us struggling which means that I know she's alive somewhere. But I just don't know where."

"What about my dad? Can you bring him back?" Rumi asked.

"He already did." Rumi turned around and saw Ansem SOD standing there.

"DAD!" she said as she ran to him. He engulfed her into a hug and she cried into his shoulder.

"I missed you so much, dad!" she sobbed.

"I missed you too, bug," Ansem said.

"I'm glad that families are reunited. But now we must turn our focus back to the exam," Yen Sid said.

"Right!" everyone said.

In Traverse Town, you were rejoined with Sora and acquired a creature called "Meow Wow" and fought Dream Eaters alongside it, catching up to Neku in the Third District. Neku stood in the square and gazed upward.

"I brought you Sora and (Y/N)! We had a bargain!" he said.

"What's the matter, Neku?" you asked. A figure in a black cloak approached the ledge and looked down at you three.

"No way!" Sora said.

"It can't be!" you said. He readied his Keyblade and the figure leaped into the air.

"Hey! That wasn't the deal! You said you wouldn't hurt them!" Neku said as he leaped in to stop him.

"Don't! Neku! They're too dangerous!" Sora said. Suddenly, you and Sora were overcome by a mysterious sleepiness.

"What? Why am I so...sleepy?" Sora asked. You and Sora's balance faltered and the two of you blacked out.

"Poor little Spirit. Xehanort's gonna have a lot of fun with you," a woman said.
