Prior to his disappearance, the Master of Masters briefed Invi on her role in his room.
"So, to sum it up," he said, clasping his hand on her shoulder. "I'll need you to observe the others. Easy breezy."
"A-all right," Invi said.
"Hmm," the Master said, tapping her shoulder. "Like I said, Ira may have to take over for me... But don't be shy. Just be fair. And do not be afraid to speak up! Even though I say 'observe,' you'll need to be the mediator; make sure people get along."
"I understand, but...without you or Luxu, to form and maintain our own Unions is... It's a little unnerving, to be honest."
"Oh, come on. Lighten up a little! Maybe I'll never disappear. Wait. Do you want me to go?"
"What? N-no! Of course not!" The Master laughed and patted her head.
"I was just kidding!"
"Oh... I see..."
"Look, I get that change can be hard for everyone. But things need to keep moving forward. And you need to keep up. Otherwise, you'll just get left behind all alone. Now that you know what the future holds, Invi, what does your heart say?" The Master chuckled and place a hand on his chest. "'May your heart be your guiding key.' I say it all the time; you ultimately need to do what your heart feels is right."
"Right," Invi smiled.
"Now, onto another topic. I already told Ira this, but there are creatures called Spirits who want to harm the universe."
"Huh?"
"Oh yes. These Spirits are harmful. They'll do almost anything to survive. If one is to fall in love with one, that Spirit will break that person's heart like a twig."
"How do we stop them?
"It's simple. You kill them."
"What? Isn't there another way?"
"Nope. Spirits need to be killed. Especially the ones that control time. Those ones are super dangerous."
"How dangerous exactly?"
"No one really knows for sure. They're quick."
"O..kay. Well, I'll do everything that I can to stop these Spirits."
"Atta-girl! I'm countin' on you!" And with that, the Master left.
