Chapter 84

Kairi, Xemnas, Roxy, Yui, and Axel were fighting Saïx and a smaller figure who remained hooded. They swung at Kairi, their Keyblades clashing. Kairi dodged backward, but the figure pursued her, knocking her away. The figure continued the pursuit when Axel rushed them, blocking with his Keyblade. He knocked them away, when Saïx rushed him, their weapons clashing against each other. A blue burst of energy beneath their standoff forced Axel to leap away. Roxy and Yui jumped into the air, shooting at Saïx but he dodged the bullets before they could hit him.

"Kairi! Axel! Xemnas! Roxy! Yui!" you, Celina, Vanitas, and Sora shouted as the two of you ran in.

"Hey, (N/N)!" Roxy said. Axel, Xemnas, Yui, Roxy, and Kairi smiled at your and Sora's arrival as the hooded figure took a running leap at Axel. Their blades clashed, knocking them both back. Axel landed on his feet next to you and your team.

"Nice to see ya," he said. You and your team faced down your foes.

"The moon shines down!" Saïx yelled. He raised his Claymore, glowing a bright blue, entering a berserk state. He hovered in the air and slammed his weapon against the ground, creating a wave of blue energy. The hooded figure, now also wielding a Claymore, followed his lead, almost copying his movements exactly. Kairi, Yui, and Roxy following their movements went after the smaller one, while Axel struck Saïx with his Keyblade. You, Xemnas, and Sora took over, knocking Saïx back, as Axel transformed his Keyblade into his red and white chakrams and flung them at Saïx. The hooded enemy teleported away from Kairi and pummeled you and Sora with a Keyblade, flinging the two of you into the air. Switching at the apex, they slammed the two of you back down to the ground with their Claymore. Roxy and Yui quickly summoned Sapphite and ordered him to catch you and Sora, which he did. Vanitas and Celina attacked Saïx but got pushed back by his claymore.

"I call on the moon's pale light," he said.

"STOP IT! JUST STOP!" Axel shouted. He struck at Saïx, but he was fixed in a trance. Saïx rose into the air, glowing with blue energy. His Claymore floating behind him, he flung his arms wide. Grabbing the Claymore, he swung it down toward you and your team, tossing you all to the ground. The blue aura pulsing through him, he ran at you all on the ground.

"Stop it! Isa!" Axel yelled. He jumped between you and the others, seeing the great X-shaped scar on Saïx's face wide open, his eyes glowing yellow and void of emotion. Axel raised his blade as Saïx struck it, knocking him back afoot. Axel fell to his knees and Saïx raised his Claymore high over him. Axel scowled at the face of his former friend as Anti-Muki suddenly appeared behind him. Axel glared at his former queen, who walked towards him.

"Muki..." Axel and Xemnas growled.

"You know, there was a time when I trusted you to deal with traitors. And now, your betrayal outstrips them all. What final words do you have for your queen?" she said.

"Well, let me think about it. How about, 'You were never my queen.' At least, not with that thing possessing you," Axel said.

"Ah, ever the rogue pawn. Knocked from the board early in the game. Utterly useless and forgotten."

"You kidding? Do you know how popular I am? I got loads of people rootin' for me. Sorry, Your Majesty. No one axes Axel. Got it memorized?" He pointed to his head with a smirk before leaping forward. He raised his fiery Keyblade and Anti-Muki caught it in her hand without flinching.

"Is this supposed to be a Keyblade? Or is it some sort of joke?" she asked. A black thorn slithered from Muki's cloak and whipped Axel back, chipping the Keyblade into disintegrating flames. Axel caught himself on his feet and energy bolts crackled around Muki's clenched fist. She lashed her arms out wide, leaving a trail of energy. Thorns surrounded the battlefield and they were surrounded by a million points of fire. Out of the circular darkness, the fire bullets struck Axel one at a time. He grunted through the pain, unable to move, as Saïx, still in his berserk state, watched from behind Anti-Muki. Axel fell to his knees again as Muki conjured her from the palm of her right hand and walked toward him.
