"Kairi, we're on our way!" you said. You all passed through Naught's Skyway and entered the upper tier of the Hall of Empty Melodies. You soon found Kairi and Ansem.

"Kairi, you were great!" Donald said.

"Oh?" she asked. She turned around and saw you, the twins, and the trio, bashfully flipping her hair. You and Sora walked up to her.

"You are different, Kairi, but I'm just glad you're here!" you said.

"Me too!" Sora said.

"You and Riku never came home, so I came looking for you two," she said. You and Sora looked away from her.

"We know and we're sorry," you said. Kairi rushed up and hugs you two, much to you and Sora's surprise.

"This is real..." she said. You and Sora hugged her back. A portal appeared behind Ansem, and he began to walk into it.

"Wait, Ansem! I mean, Xehanort's Heartless..." Sora said. Ansem stopped and the portal closed.

"I never thought for a second that I'd ever see YOU again. Just thinking about all the things you did makes me really mad. But... But you saved Kairi, right? I have to be grateful for that... Thanks," Sora said.

"Me too," you said.

"Uncle Ansem? Is that you?" Yui asked. Ansem started to leave, but Kairi ran over and stopped him.

"Riku, don't go!" she said. You, the twins, and the trio were surprised.

"Huh?" you, the twins, Donald, and Goofy asked.

"Kairi, what did you just say?" Sora asked.

"Riku," Kairi said.

"I'm no one—just a castaway from the darkness," Ansem said.

"Sora, (Y/N), come here. Say something to him." You and Sora walked over to him. Kairi took both you and Sora's hand.

"Here. You'll understand," she said. She placed yours and his hands together with hers. "Close your eyes." You and Sora did so, as Ansem looked at you two. You and Sora saw Riku in a black cloak. He was holding the hands of you, Sora, and Kairi. You and Sora opened your eyes and realized.

"Riku... It's Riku. Riku's here..." you said. You and Sora fell to your knees, holding Ansem's hand, tears rolling down your faces.

"We looked for you!" Sora said.

"C'mon, you two. You've got to pull it together," Riku said.

"We looked everywhere for you!" you said.

"I didn't want you two to find me."

"But it was him that was helpin' us, wasn't it?" Goofy asked.

"Huh?" Donald and the twins asked.

"Those clues we kept finding. That musta been Riku."

"Well, there goes our luck for finding our uncle," Roxy said.

"I was starting to worry you guys weren't ever gonna catch on. Sora and (Y/N) never did pick the brightest friends," Riku said.

"What do you mean by that!?" Donald asked.

"Why didn't you let us know you were okay?" Sora asked.

"I told you. I didn't want to be found. Not like this..." Riku looked at himself. "I couldn't. I fought with Ansem. With...Xehanort's Heartless—when it invaded my heart, and I won. But to use the power of darkness, I had to become Ansem myself."
