Rain. The clear blue sky was no more and the clouds wept onto the graveyard at Scala ad Caelum. Xehanort laid an arrangement of flowers at five gravestones. He knelt, closing his heavy eyes, the rain filling his ears.

"You're leaving?" Eraqus asked as he walked up to him.

"Yeah," Xehanort said as he stood up.

"We had some good times, huh?" Eraqus asked, bittersweetly.

"Yeah," Xehanort sighed.

"You don't have to leave." Xehanort said nothing. "What happened wasn't your fault."

"I just want to see more of what's out there before the Mark of Mastery exam. And I wanna show (Y/N) what the other worlds are like.

"That's not for a while. Besides, you've already seen what's out there. (Y/N) will have plenty of chances when she's older."

"Not everything."

"What are you looking for?" Xehanort said nothing and began walking away. Eraqus's sadness turned to frustration.

"Fine, but you better come back. We've got a score to settle. I'm at 117 wins, 312 losses, and 8 draws," he said and Xehanort stopped.

"You mean 107 wins, 323 losses, and 7 draws," he said.

"Whatever. Close enough." Xehanort turned back to him.

"Do you seriously mean that?" he asked.

"Knew I'd get you to turn around. See you soon, buddy," Eraqus smirked. Xehanort returned the smile.

"See you," he said. He left and Eraqus's face grew sad again. He turned and walked past the gravestones, but stopped to say one final goodbye to Celina.

Xehanort awoke on the beach of the Destiny Islands. He wiped the tear from his face and stared out over the ocean. The robed figure appeared behind him and the two met.

I never really thought about who I was. Not until I began to wonder who others were.

Xehanort and Eraqus entered the classroom in Scala ad Caelum where the other students waited for class to begin.

Day after day, I spend my time with the same classmates in the same classroom. The days are peaceful and a little boring, but they're also familiar and comfortable. Even so, my new life is just like the old.

Xehanort gazed into the corridor of darkness conjured by the robed figure.

A different world, but with the same days playing out over and over again.

Xehanort entered the corridor and it closed behind him.

I left the island behind to come here, and yet...

Eraqus walked down to the pier meeting Xehanort at a bench.

Maybe it's not about the place. Maybe it's about me... and how I engage with others. How we influence one another and the world around us.

Eraqus sat next to Xehanort for a chat.

Maybe that's what shapes our hearts and who we are...and who we will become.

Xehanort leaned against a tree in the odd world of Wonderland.

All kinds of things can influence the growth of a heart. Change can come from anywhere, from the smallest, simplest thing. From light, or from darkness.
