The truth

They say mystical creatures only exist in books, movies and our imagination.
Whether it's a unicorn, a fairy or creatures, who look a bit more dangerous. Vampires, werewolves...zombies?
We would rather keep them as an imagination. Were we can control their actions, their mindset and behavior. Because, who would want a blood sucking monster to become reality?
And how could we, humans, explain such a thing?

For us, it will forever be a „fairytale" and imagination, but what we actually don't know is that in the depths of the shadows, such creatures truly exist. And I'm standing in front of one.

"You're a vampire."

I couldn't believe my own words as I said them out loud.

Say it wasn't true. Laugh at me for saying something so ridiculous. Please. I was begging in my mind for him  to tell me it's a dream. That this wasn't reality.
But he just stood there and said nothing.

"H-how?"

"What do you mean?"

"How did you become a vampire?"

A long pause. He didn't know how to answer. Or did he just not want to tell me?

"It's a long and complicated story." I wasn't satisfied with his answer but then again I was glad that I didn't get one.

"This must be a bad dream. A joke. Please tell me this isn't true. I- I can't do this after all that has happened in my life."

I hated it when tears started forming in my eyes. I hated to cry and especially in front of others.
I felt pathetic.

"Can't you erase my memories?! Hypnotize me or something, please."

"We already tried."

Huh? What did he just say?

"We?"

"Heeseung hyung tried to hypnotize you in front of the restroom because he was suspicious of you but it didn't work."

It didn't work?! I got even more confused than I already was.
"Why didn't it work?"

He seemed like he didn't know an answer to this as well.

"Unlock the door."

"What?"

"I said, unlock the door, Jungwon."

He hesitated. Adrenaline rushed through my body and I forgot my fear for a second. I just wanted to get away from this.
After hesitating for minutes he unlocked the door. I took my chance. And I ran.

But I didn't get that far. Right in front of the door, I was greeted by Jay. Not to bump into him I had to slow down real quick.

"You already wanna leave?"

I tried to think of an excuse but I couldn't. I tried to say at least something that would come off as convincing.
„I- yeah. I actually am writing an exam tomorrow."
„It's Saturday. You gonna write an exam on Sunday? Interesting."
Shit. I didn't think about that.

"Y/n!"

I turned around. Jungwon came running towards me and I cursed in my thoughts.

"Please, just let me leave." I begged Jay, but he didn't move an inch until Jungwon reached us.

"Y/n, listen to me. You can't leave. They know that you're here and that you know about us. The moment you step out of this house, you will be in danger."

I scoffed.
"In danger?! You're telling me I will be in danger when I'm surrounded by freaking vampires?!" Jay's eyes got big after what I said.

"Y/n, please. I know it sounds ridiculous-"

"It does, yes." I interrupted him.

He sighed. "But please trust me. I will explain everything to you but don't leave this house ok? We will protect you."

He looked at me with a heartfelt expression.
"I will protect you, I promise."

I was fighting with my own thoughts. I really wanted to leave this place and not trust them at all. But then again, looking at Jungwon...I was convinced it was better to stay. I nodded and I could see how relieved he was.

Sunoo's POV

When you enter the house, there's a long hallway in front of you. To the right, there are several doors leading to several, empty rooms including the living room. You can enter the living room through three doors.

Most people are too focused on these doors and the huge living room that they don't notice another door in the living room itself. A door, that only we knew about.

I scanned the room to make sure no one was watching and sneakily made my way through that door into another, endless hallway.
Twirling the dark red drink in my hand, I made my way to the very end of the hallway.

Before I opened the door tho, I stopped. My lips curled into a smirk, knowing I wasn't alone anymore.

The lights went out one by one and when the last light bulb went out, he appeared right behind me.

"I've waited for you to finally come out of your shadow." I said and turned around to face him.
He smiled.

"Playing hide and seek now, I see. What do you want K?"

"Already dropping the honorifics, Sunoo?" He pretended to be hurt.

I scoffed. "Did it a long time ago."
He just chuckled at my answer.

"You didn't answer my question." I stopped smiling and got serious. Enough playing around.

"You know why we're here." His smirk never leaving his face.

"You're not welcomed so I'd rather suggest for you to leave this house or else-"

"Or else what? What are you going to do, Sunoo?"
He took a step towards me.

I could see his face as clear as ever even tho the lights went out. His grin, his dark brown, longing eyes and this evil look he gave off. He was wearing a leather jacket, a black, plain shirt underneath and some ripped, grey pants.
Typical K. He almost never wore something else, even back then.

If he wanted to scare me, it didn't work. I had respect towards K, but I wasn't afraid of him.
"Don't underestimate what I can do." He hesitated to say something and I was amused by it.

"You're in a house full of vampires so I suggest for you to leave. Now."

He took a few steps back, becoming one with the shadow. I could only hear his voice before I was all by myself again.
"We had a deal, Sunoo. And I'll always be there to not let you forget about it."
