Give back what once was mine

Jungwon's POV

"We have to destroy the cube. That's what she wanted us to do." Jay's voice was soft as he spoke to me. Normally, he would scream and shout but with me he always spoke softly.

I tried to avoid their eyes but I knew they were right. Both Heeseung and Jay.

"It was her last wish, Jungwon." Heeseung whispered next to me. I finally faced him. His face looked puffy and his eyes were red from crying earlier. I guess I looked the same, If not even more horrible.

"I know." I mumbled and took the cube into my hands. I stared at it for a moment.

"Jungwonie?"

A thought crossed my mind the longer I stared at the cube.

"Jungwon we-"

"No."

"What do you mean no?" Hot tears were stinging my eyes as I looked at Jay in anger.

"I won't destroy it. I will save her." They all looked confused except for Luna.

She was sitting in front of me the whole time, not leaving y/n's side once.

"I don't know if it's possible anymore." She mumbled.

"I don't care. Just tell me what I have to do."

"Jungwon, what are you saying?" Heeseung looked worried as if I was about to do something dumb. Maybe I was. But it was my only chance.

"He wants to use the cube." It was Jake who answered Heeseung. It was the first time he said something to him in forever. But they weren't mad at him anymore. I wasn't either. We couldn't change what happened and it was no longer important.

"I-I know you miss her Jungwon. We do too. But she's dead. The cube won't function anymore without her alter ego existing."

I tried to ignore his words. I didn't want them to be true. I squeezed my eyes shut in pain.

"Jungwon, it's over."

"NO!" I opened my eyes furiously.

"I won't lose her! I won't lose anyone ever again! Our life's have been taken away from us they day we turned into vampires. She gave us back what we never thought we would experience again. A reason to live. Don't you think she changed our life's for the better? I dragged her into this and now she's dead. This is my fault and I'm gonna make this right. I will take that chance. I owe it to her. You either help me or stay away. But don't try to stop me."

Heeseung stared at me intensely for a moment but sighed in defeat after realizing I wouldn't change my mind.

"Are you sure this is going to work?" I looked at Sunghoon, who joined Jake's side, watching me with doubtful eyes.

"Let him try. Maybe it will work." Sunoo gave me an encouraging smile. I saw him holding Niki's hand tightly, the younger ones eyes were out of focus as he stared blankly at y/n. His eyes then wandered to K's lifeless body and then to EJ.

Even tho he wanted to kill EJ for what he did, it still left a trauma. He saw two of his closest friends die and even killed someone...

I realized how much he must've been hurting all this time. I also had to do this for Niki. I had to bring her back.

"Luna, what do I have to do?"

"I will tell you the words to absorb the power of her alter ego. The cube will then turn red and you have to fulfill your wish. Your hearts deepest desire."

I nodded and listend carefully at her next words, which seemed to be in Latin.

"Okay. I got it." I took a deep breath, embracing the cube with both my hands. With one last look at Luna, I started saying the words to fulfill the ritual. I was surprised at how fast I memorized them, carefully saying each word to not pronounce them wrong.
