The clock is ticking

Jungwon and I went back downstairs to join the other boys again. Even tho the situation was quite serious I still couldn't help but be happy about the relationship between me and Jungwon. We were closer than before and I still had butterflies in my stomach as we were walking down the stairs.

The living room was as quiet as when I left to follow Jungwon. The atmosphere tensing up every minute passing by. The only thing that changed was Sunghoon walking around the room with a frustrated face, not seeming like he was injured that badly anymore.

"Sunghoon? Are you alright?"
He stopped going back and forth to face me, forcing a smile.

"I'm fine, thank you y/n." I could still see the pain he was in even tho he almost healed fully but I didn't bother him much more and just trusted his words. I returned his smile and turned to K.

"K, can you tell them what you told me about Celeste and the cube. And about me."

"You?" Heeseung eyed me confused and K stepped forward to be able to face us all.

"Celeste wasn't quite open about her plans. At least not to everyone."

"And why should she tell you?" Jay interrupted him but K didn't bother about his vicious remark.

"She didn't. I found out myself. She will be full filling the ritual when the next full moon appears, turning blue into red at midnight. She said she will do it on a cliff near our city where the blood moon will kiss the edge of the cliff."

"I know where that is. I saw it in my...my dream. It felt like the moon was right in front of my eyes and-"
I stopped mid-sentence as I remembered the live less bodies.

"Is everything alright?" I nodded quickly at Heeseung's question and K continued.

"She needs the cube to absorb its power as soon as it turns red, making her immortal. Whenever you try to kill her she will revive again. As I figured out you guys don't really know how much power the cube has."

"Let me guess, it gets even worse than just immortality." Jay muttered and K nodded.

"She may be immortal but her power is linked to something. Or rather someone."

"Me." I whispered.

No one dared to say something. I could see their confused expressions trying to figure out why and how.

"It doesn't make sense. Why is it linked to y/n? And how?"

"As far as I understood, it has to do something with the curse that witch put on her. Celeste had to break it so that she can kill y/n."

"I don't understand. How does y/n's death contribute to that?" Sunoo, who hadn't said a word yet suddenly joined the conversation.

"As long as she lives, her vital energy is linked to Celeste's . That's why she assigned us to kill y/n. Once y/n is dead she won't be caged anymore. Nothing can hold her back."

I was deep in thoughts, trying to remember if Claire told me something about that but she didn't. I suddenly had an idea.

"You said it has something to do with the curse? Maybe we can find out what this all means."

Jungwon stared at me for a while and it felt like he could see right through me, knowing what I was thinking about. His eyes widened and he came towards me.

"Don't even think about that."

"About what?" Sunghoon, who sat down on the sofa a few minutes ago stood up, clearly not liking that he didn't know what we were talking about judging from his tone of voice.

"Claire came twice to communicate with me in my dream. I'm not sure if it will work the other way round but I can try to get in contact with her through my dreams and talk to her."

"Great. Why are you making such a fuss about that Jungwon?" Jay rolled his eyes.

"Because it's dangerous." Sunoo answered Jay's question.

"Luna told me about this once. If you're willingly trying to get into the dreamworld you'll be having a time limit. If you're staying too long you'll loose control of everything in that world and yourself. It's like a mirror world. Everything is not as it seems, up is down, left is right. A second too long in there and you won't be able to find out again. And-"

"And what, Sunoo?"

"You can die in there. It might seem like a dream but it doesn't work like one. You have to be careful."

I knew what they were going to say. That I shouldn't do it. That I shouldn't be risking my life and that they would try to find another solution to get answers. Especially Jungwon and Heeseung wouldn't let me do it. But we were running out of time. And it was our only chance.

"I'm doing it."

I saw Jungwon wanting to say something against it but I interrupted him.

"I know it's dangerous and that I'm risking a lot. But we have no time and I won't just sit and wait and do nothing if we may have a chance to get some answers that might help us. You can't stop me so I suggest you help me or I'll do it myself."

It was quiet for a few minutes until Niki took my hand in his and gave me a smile. I've missed seeing him smile again.

"I'm with you, Noona."

Jay gave us his infamous smirk.
"You can count on me dont worry."

Soon K, Sunghoon and Sunoo joined us as well.

It was just Jungwon and Heeseung, who were still hesitating.

"You won't give up, will you?"

I shook my head no. "Not if we have a chance."
Jungwon smiled and took my hand to tell me he's with me as well.
"Then I'll help you. Always."

Heeseung sighed at the sight of us.
"I have no choice do I? Let's do it." I let out a squeal and hugged him in excitement.

He patted my head in return and I heard the rest of the boys chuckling.

"I think we need one more person for this." Sunoo said and reached his hand out to me. I took it and soon we were standing in a small circle, holding each other's hands tightly.

"Time for a trip."
