We arrived at the house and said our goodbyes to Luna, who had to go back to her place since Limeria was waiting for her.

I watched the boys chatting in the living room as if nothing ever happened. But it made me happy. Even tho we would never forget that night we were still able to continue our life's like we always did.

Celeste's body crumbled to dust after she was killed and some of the dead bodies of the  werewolves must've been taken by their pack after the fight.

The sky was back to normal and the full moon slowly disappeared.
Just like the new moon phase coming, so were our lives coming to a new phase and a new beginning.

I excused myself to get some fresh air and sat down at the doorstep. Soon after I left the inside of the house I was followed by Jake. He sat down beside me and we just stared at the sky in silence for a while.

I suddenly thought of K and tried stopping the tears from coming.

"Niki and Jay will go get his body so that we can set up a small funeral for him." Jake said as if he knew what I was thinking about.

"That's good." I tried to erase these sad thoughts. K would've been proud of us.

I looked at Jake and a question arose inside of me.

"Why were you not there during the fight?"

He scratched his neck in embarrassment.

"I had no choice."

Flashback

Jake's POV

"Hey Jakey."

I groaned in annoyance when I heard EJ's voice.

"Just wanted to make sure you're ready to face your friends."

"They aren't my friends anymore."

"Whatever. I don't believe you."

I stared at EJ intensly.

"I will do anything to stop them." EJ took a step towards me, smiling at my words.

"Then you'll die." I let out a bitter chuckle at his words. He really thought I wasn't capable of anything.

"Jokes on you. I'm already dead."

I couldn't figure out his expression but I had no time to figure it out anyways as he pushed me into a small room which seemed to be a storeroom and closed the door, blocking it with something.

I was banging at the door in anger, screaming his name and that he should let me out but I heard his steps getting further away.

He didn't trust me. But I wasn't even surprised about that. What I was surprised about was the fact that I actually liked being locked up and not having to join the fight. Maybe I didn't want to fight them after all.

End of flashback

Y/n's POV

"I managed to get out after some time. It was luck to be honest, being there at the right time to help you out. And before you try and say sorry for everything or explain yourself, just don't. There's no need to do that. I figured that I wasn't exactly right about the things I said but just manipulated by her words. I honestly felt like an outcast sometimes, like I wasn't good enough for the team. But you showed me that it wasn't the case. I just lost hope and had to believe in it again. So thank you for not giving up on me."

After listening carefully to Jake's little speech I pulled him into a hug. There was no need to say anything as the hug said more than any words could've said. He thankfully hugged me back tightly.
