Y/n POV
"Heeseung, can we talk?"
It has been a while since Sunoo and Niki went to get help. Jungwon fell asleep on the sofa and Jay joined Jake and Sunghoon, who sat across Jungwon, after talking with Heeseung.
Heeseung nodded and we both made our way out of the house.
I sat down in front of the doorstep, Heeseung following my action and doing the same.
It was silent for a while and we both just stared at the quiet neighborhood and nature surrounding us. The weather was surprisingly good after it has rained a few days ago."What do you wanna talk about?" He interrupted our silence.
"Your mother." I answered and I could feel his eyes on me.
"You know her, don't you?"
"Not her. Her ancestors." I looked at Heeseung and our eyes met."Your mother-"
"Her name is Celeste." He interrupted me.
"Call her Celeste."
I nodded confused but continued with what I wanted to say."Does she know about me?"
Heeseung raised his eyebrows in confusion and I figured my question wasn't clear enough."I mean does she know about what has happened to me and why she can't hurt me?"
I asked again and Heeseung understood were I was going with the question."I haven't told her anything if that's what you mean. But she does seem to know that a witch protected you from us. At least that's what she mentioned."
I stood up. Heeseung did the same and we faced each other."I need to find Claire." I blurted out.
"What. Why?"
I took a deep breath, feeling somewhat nervous.
"I- I need some answers. She brought me back to life." It wasn't a lie. I really wanted some answers. But I also wanted to warn her. If Celeste would find out that she was the witch, who helped me, she wouldn't hesitate to kill her.
Heeseung suddenly pulled me closer into a hug. Surprised, I just stood there completely frozen."I'm sorry that I never trusted you. I will help you no matter what." He said and I slowly patted his back.
"It's okay, Heeseung. The past can't be changed. It's the present that counts."
He let go of me and smiled.Jungwon's POV
I woke up with my head pounding like crazy. It felt like a ticking bomb about to burst. I pressed my hand against my temple. This was the worst headache I ever got in all these years. And vampires don't even get things like that.
I got up and sat straight, staring at Jake, Jay and Sunghoon, who were deep in conversation, not noticing me.I scanned the room but I couldn't find y/n.
Then I suddenly saw movement outside of the window. Curiously, I stood up and made my way towards it. I stopped at the curtain and hid behind it. I could see Heeseung standing at our doorstep together with y/n.
They seemed like they were talking about something and I could see y/n's nervous expression. I was about to go outside when I froze in my movements.Heeseung pulled her into a hug and they stayed like that for a bit.
Anger arose inside of me and I unconsciously balled my hands into fists. I had enough of seeing this so I made my way back to the sofa, completely forgetting about my headache. Why did it bother me that much when Heeseung hugged her. It's not like we are together. Confused about my feelings, I tried to calm down. Maybe it's nothing. Or maybe..
I shook my head in denial.Did I develop feelings for y/n?
Y/n POV
After my talk with Heeseung, we both went back into the house.
"Jungwon! You're awake!" I said excitedly and sat down beside him.
"Are you alright?""I'm fine." He answered without looking at me. His voice sounded distant and cold.
"I just talked with Heeseung and I wanted to go find Claire."
"Heeseung will gladly go with you so why not ask him."I was taken aback by his answer. This wasn't what I wanted to hear from him.
"Nevermind then, I guess." I backfired just as cold as he did and turned around to leave the house.
"Where are you going?" Jake asked and I turned around to face him.
"I need some fresh air."
He just nodded and continued his conversation. Without looking back at Jungwon, I made my way outside.Outside of the house I took out my phone and dialed the number of my grandma.
"Hello?"
"Grandma? It's me, y/n."
"Oh dear, what can I help you with?"
Her voice sounded excited and I realized how much I missed talking to her."Can you tell me where I can find Claire, grandma."
Silence. It was as if the line went dead.
"Grandma?""Yes. Of course. But y/n, be careful."
She never called me by my name. Not if it was really important or something dangerous.
"I will, grandma. Thank you. I love you."
"I love you too my dear."I smiled happily. But then I thought of my mum and my smile faded.
"Grandma...how is mum doing?"
Another pause.
"She's fine. She just needs some time. Don't worry."Her voice was shaking as she answered me. Of course mum wasn't alright. She just found out I was friends with vampires and that I found out about the secrets she tried to hide. Not to forget that she wanted to shoot me. Grandma just didn't want me to worry but I still did.
But I also knew that she would eventually be fine."Just tell her I'm sorry." I said and after we had talked a bit about random stuff we hung up.
Claire's house wasn't far from here. Just two blocks actually.
I looked back at the house for a second.
I was debating whether or not to ask someone to come with me.
I shook my head and turned around to make my way to Claire. It was better for me to go on my own. And I didn't really want anyone to come with me anyway.
