Chapter 41: Forever

It's been 10 years.

Raya gave birth to Cole Alexander II, their Colin 4 years ago. Hiro is already 11 while Rumi just turned 10 and they are all going to the same school.

Raya is already a household name. She returned to newscasting a year after giving birth to Rumi and the rest is history. She's still hands on with the kids and her nail and hair spa that already has 5 branches.

Cole now has his own Construction Firm, the well established IRC Construction Inc. after the first letters of their children's names.

Drew and Nico are now married for 4 years. Syempre kanino pa kundi sa mga kaibigan lang din nila sila bumagsak. Nico married Lora after two years of their relationship. Drew married Karen. Umuwi rin ito pagkatapos ng contract niya at seryoso naman itong niligawan ni Drew hanggang napasagot and they got married after 5 years. Nico and Lora have twins na babae while Drew and Karen have two boys. They are part of the board of directors in Cole's Construction Firm.

Their life runs smoothly. May mga konting tampuhan pero dahil sa pagmamahal, pagtitiwala at pag-uusap ay agad namang nareresolba. Their relationship remains to be strong.

"Mama, what are we cooking?" Tanong ni Colin sa ina. They're in the kitchen. Nasa school pa ang kuya at ate. Dahil nagsschoolbus, bandang 5pm pa ang dating ng dalawa kaya kapag walang pasok si Raya ay silang dalawa lang ng bunso sa bahay mula paglabas nito sa school ng 11am hanggang pagdating ng mga kapatid at ng papa nila.

"We will make mac and cheese for kuya and ate and of course for you honey. Then mama will cook stuffed chicken and mixed veggies for our dinner. Are you hungry love? Timpla ka muna ni mama ng milk."

"Thank you po mama." He's seated in one of the chairs habang naglalaro ng matchbox toy car.

"You're welcome honey." Kumuha si Raya ng sippy cup at sinimulang ipagtimpla ng milk ang anak.

"Mama, I miss you a lot when I'm at school. Can I work too? Colin will go with you." Nakapangalumbaba ito habang tumitingin kay Raya. He looked so adorable. Napangiti si Raya sa anak bago pinagpatuloy ang paghahalo ng milk.

"You can go with mama every Saturday or pag wala kang school. You have to go to school first so you can work after when you grow bigger."

"How long po mama?" He's inquisitive at a young age and becomes more inquisitive as he grows older.

"After you finish college. 18 years. But don't think about that now honey. Enjoy your school and enjoy being a kid."

"Can you go to school with me instead, mama?" Inabot ni Raya and sipping cup sa anak at lumapit dito para halikan ang tuktok ng ulo ni Colin.

"Mama has to work so I can earn money to help papa pay for your school, buy you clothes and toys, buy our food and save for your future." She sat on the empty chair beside Colin and looked at him as he drank from his cup.

"Why do you earn money mama and I don't? School is hard too. We draw and we write and we color and my hands hurt sometimes."

"I love you honey." Natatawang sabi ni Raya at pinupog ng halik ang matatabang pisngi ng bunso.

"You learn in school. Teachers, like Ms. Lea, teaches you so you will be ready in the future when you have to start working. In turn, she gets paid like mama and papa."

"Okay po mama. I want to grow old so I can work and I can help you and papa."

"Thank you my love. For now, let mama and papa take care of that, okay?" He nodded and pouted his lips to ask for a loud kiss for his mama.
