Octavia, Jasper, Murphy and Miller are checking on the snares they set up the day before. They are about three miles further into the forest for the first time. They’ve always tried to maintain a close range to the dropship but O believed it was okay to venture a little more into the woods. Bellamy, Ash and Raven should arrive at camp by mid afternoon.

Miller and Murphy have their rustic looking bow and arrows that they made a few days ago. For the past two hours, the two boys have only managed to snag three birds each and used about ten arrows. “They’re improving,” Sky comments and Octavia just nods her head in agreement. Jasper finds a berry tree and starts picking the fruit and placing them in his backpack. As the only omega in the group, O likes to keep a close eye on him. “Omegas are special,” Sky told her a few days ago. “They need to be protected; they’re the “tough, little guys” and when they’re pissed, their scent makes me want to run away!” Sky continues as she lets out a growly laugh. “What are you talking about? You’ve never smelled a pissed off omega. I haven’t!” O tells her teasingly, but it is true. O has never encountered an agitated omega and hopes she never does. She knows that their scent can change and sting their attacker’s eyes and honestly, she doesn’t want to experience that ever. “Shut up smartass! Messing up my good mood! SHIT! Can’t let a wolf have a good laugh! Grr...grr,” Sky lets outs irritated and O sends her an image of her laughing. O’s head slightly sways forward and her wolf sends her an image of a pissed off Sky snarling at her. O just lowly chuckles and shakes her head as she continues checking on her snares. Of all the snares they’ve set up, most are empty and Octavia feels disappointed.

Suddenly, she hears a noise a few hundred feet from her and she scans the forest keenly. At a distance of three hundred she spots a feral hog; a mighty boar with plenty of meat and enough to feed the group for the next two days. She estimates the boar to weigh approximately 220 lbs. She backs up slowly towards the rest and in a whisper asks Murphy to give her his spear as well as his bow and arrow and he does. She tells them to be quiet. Jasper stops collecting berries and the other boys just crouch down and watch her walk slowly and silently towards the boar. She stops about seventy five feet away and notices that the boar is scavenging for food and not paying attention to its surroundings. “Good piggy,” Sky slyly says. “Make a good kill girl. Clarke’s gonna be hungry and then after, we get to cuddle,” she finishes saying with a sultry tone in her voice. Octavia smiles at the thought of holding Clarke in her arms again. Since that night of their first kiss, Clarke has been sleeping in her arms; everyone in the camp already knows that Clarke is taken and Octavia relishes the idea. She inhales and exhales slowly as she adjusts her grip on the spear. Feeling confident now, she slowly gets up and throws the spear as fast and hard as she can aiming for the boar’s head and silently hopes she gets a good kill. Naturally, a Pureblood with wolf instincts and the strength she possesses, the spear lands dead center on the animal’s head. Cheers erupts as the boys come running towards her. “The poor bastard didn’t stand a chance!” Miller exclaims grinning widely at Octavia. “Come on Miller, let’s get it!” Murphy slightly roars out as he starts running towards the beast followed closely by Miller.

When the boys reach the animal, they study the size of the boar. “WOW! O how did you do that?! This is a monster of a boar!” Miller exclaims as he tries to remove the spear from the animal’s head but can’t so, it takes both boys to pull the spear out of the beast and then Murphy walks a little forward towards a tree and jumps to break a slightly thick branch, Jasper searches his backpack and finds some string and takes it to the boys. O scans the area around her to see if maybe there is another beast she can kill so they don’t have to hunt for food immediately but sees nothing. She watches as the three boys tie the beast from the legs to the branch and Murphy and Miller place the branch on their shoulders and start walking towards her. “Well, the snares were a dud but this will definitely work!” Murphy tells her as he grabs a hold of the branch tightly. They start making their way back home; all happy that they will enjoy some wild boar tonight. After two hours of walking and the boys getting tired, Octavia and Jasper take the branch and place it on their shoulder to give the others a break.
