Back in the dropship Raven is still unconscious, Clarke takes this time to check on Raven’s head and stitch her up.
“Well, it doesn’t look that bad, she has a little bump that’s probably going to be there for a couple of days but it should go down. She might have a headache and feel woozy at the beginning but it all should go away in about two days,” Clarke concluded as she bandaged Raven’s head.
Ash looks at her and just smiles. “You remind me so much of your mom you know with the way you talk. You’ll make a good doctor just like her, Clarke,” Ash tells her warmly as she pats Clarke’s shoulder.
“Thanks, Ash. Oh! I miss her, you know. I haven’t seen her in over a year. I wonder if she….,” Clarke trails off. She had often wondered if her mother still thought of her or even loved her.
“She does,” Ash tells her as if hearing Clarke’s thoughts. “Clarke, she still loves you; don’t ever doubt that. You know why she sent you to the ground?” Ash asks Clarke as she just looks to the ground.
“So I’d live,” Clarke responds.
“Exactly Clarke,” Ash says. “For that same reason and if everything goes according to plan they will all be here soon; just as soon as Rae gets up,” Ash comments to herself. She has yet to inform Clarke or the rest of them about the plan.
“So, this is Raven huh?” Clarke asks, changing the topic.
“A huh. This is Raven. I’d introduce you but she’s out as a light,” Ash says lightly chuckling at herself. Clarke just chuckles back.
There’s something about this alpha that she likes but she can’t place it. She feels warm and light around Raven. It’s not like how she feels when she’s around Octavia because with O, all she wants to do is hug and bury her face in the crook of the alpha’s neck. With Raven, she feels warm and safe. It’s a nice feeling although Clarke knows they don’t know anything about each other. “Hmm… strange,” Clarke comments to herself.
As she checks out Ash, Bellamy comes in. “Hey guys, how’s Porthos?” he asks, chuckling.
“Who’s Porthos?” a frowning Clarke asks.
“Oh, sorry Clarke. It’s just that we’re The Three Musketeers,” Ash tells her, motioning to Bellamy, Raven and herself. Still confused, Clarke just shakes her head so Bellamy clarifies.
“Um, The Three Musketeers is Ash’s favourite novel and so she gave us the characters’ names. I’m Athos, Ash is Aramis and Raven is Porthos.”
“Ah!” Clarke says cheerfully and smiles.
“Well she’s still unconscious but Clarke says she’ll live,” Ash says tenderly as she settles her hand on Raven’s arm.
“Where’s O?” Clarke suddenly asks. She remembers Octavia coming in with them and staying a little while before she lost track of her.
“She’s getting you guys a plate of food. She and I already ate but figured you two haven’t,” Bellamy responds to Clarke, Just then, Ash’s stomach growls loudly at the thought of food and they all laugh.
Octavia is in their very rustic made kitchen. There are some tin cups and tin plates that the delinquents managed to make out of aluminum they found inside the dropship; not the best, but it works. She has two plates in her hand with some smoked fish and a few edible roots and beside it, there are two cups of water. “Definitely time to go hunting again, I’m tired of eating roots and fish,” Sky mutters in O’s head.
“Yep! I’d like to taste a bird or something bigger than wild rabbits and small game,” Octavia tells Sky.
“Yeah! Yeah! Like a moose or deer!” Sky says cheerfully. “Mmmmm….. That sounds nice!” O comments happily to Sky. “Anyhow, we’ll do that later, right now I gotta take these to Clarke and Ash,” she tells Sky. Sky rumbles in O’s head at the thought of Clarke. “Yeah, I know right,” O tells Sky.
