Chapter 35: Truths Finally Revealed 2

A/N: Clarke's letter is in bold letters while Raven's letter is in italics.

In their hands both Clarke and Raven hold their letters. Clarke wonders why Raven's mom would write her a letter but when she scans the letter she realizes it's Abby's handwriting so she starts reading.

"Clarke

If you're reading this letter, it means that I am no longer around. I love you and I always will. You are the best thing that Jake and I created and I thank God everyday that I have you. Every time I see you, I see your father - his love, his strength, his courage. He was the best husband and father I could've ever asked for, and you were his pride and joy. Clarke, I loved you father and he knew that, I will always love him but there is something that you have a right to know.

When I was 17 years old, an intern at Med Bay, I met an omega and we fell in love. We were together for two months before everything changed. Your grandfather found out about our relationship and forced me to leave her. I'm sure you can guess why. He threatened to float her and I was scared so I accepted what he wanted. He demanded that Jake and I mate and marry but your father knew I was in love with her so he refused but his family pressured him as well so, in order to be free of our families' constant berating, we agreed. In order for her to leave me, I pleaded with your father to help me and he did reluctantly. I knew she was going to see me in Med Bay, so when I saw her coming, I pulled your father and we kissed. I professed my undying love for him, thereby breaking her heart and shattering mines in the process. ..."

Meanwhile Raven starts reading hers.

"My Little Bird,

How I miss you and can't wait to hold you in my arms but if you're reading this letter then I am sorry to say that will not happen. Raven, you and I have always been together and there are no secrets between us but there is something that I have never told you. I am sorry that I have to let you know through this letter. I would have preferred to tell you directly. I know I owe you an explanation of your Purebred features and I hope that when I tell you, you can forgive me because what I did was out of love for you and out of fear of losing you.

When I was 15, I met a 17 year old female alpha intern in Med Bay. It was my first heat and I went looking for suppressants but I found the love of my life instead. We were together for two months until everything changed.
