Chapter 44: Back To Mount Weather

There is chaos all over; everyone is at a loss, all hell breaks loose. The alarms are blaring loudly. Screams and wails are heard coming in from all directions. Lexa is harshly pushed onto the steel and cement walls of Mount Weather. She barely opens her eyes when she feels a strong hand on her throat, squeezing tightly. The smell of furious alpha pheromones hits her nostrils and makes her want to puke. She hears Clarke scream her name and through half lidded open eyes, sees as her omega flies across the floor and hits her head on the wall. Then all of a sudden, Lexa hears a loud growl. Before she closes her eyes, Lexa sees a black furry shadow run towards her and the hand squeezing her throat immediately lets her go.

Four Days Earlier

Mount Weather

Most of the 100 omegas are in distress. They want to leave and everyday that passes, they feel like they may never leave. The betas try their best to help them but it's not enough, the omegas need more and need the assurances they feel when they're around alphas. Their protective pheromones make them feel safe and protected. That security and protection that alphas provide are also essential to an omega's mental stability just as the soothing omegas pheromones are to alphas.

Dr. Tsing knows all of this, but she doesn't care. At the moment, her only concern is getting to the bottom of decoding a Purebred alpha's DNA so that she can convert herself into a Purebred. Furthermore, there are medications that can be used to suppress an omega's distress but Dr. Tsing rather not use it. Not because it's not recommended but because they don't have a large quantity of it.

Jasper and Monty try their best but they can only do so much so when he goes to work, Jasper contacts the Ark.

"Come in Ark, come in Rae, Ash," he says nervously as he looks around to make sure no one sees or hears him.

"I'm here Jas, what's up?" Rae's voice comes through.

"Rae, you need to get us out of here now! It's getting too much for us. Some omegas are in distress and I don't know what to do. Furthermore, the omegas that are more in distress are missing. I've no idea where they are. Perhaps, they've turned them into reapers or who knows what! Rae, get us out of here please!" Jasper pleads and Rae bites her nails in nervousness.

"We will Jasper, don't worry, we will!" she tells him and looks at her mate. Ash's face is contorted in worry and when Raven looks at Sinclair, the beta isn't doing any better either.

Inside the Mountain, Liam finds Fox inside the laundry room and tells her that the missing omegas have been placed inside cages. "Dr. Tsing and the others will use them as food to feed the reapers since according to her, they're useless now. They serve no purpose, not even to breed pups," he tells her. Anger and fury course through her veins.

"Motherfucking bitch!" Fox growls out. "We need to get them out, Liam. I won't allow that bitch of a doctor to use my family as food!" She then asks, "How many reapers are there? Is it like an army or what?"

"From the last time I heard, there are about fifty or a little more of them. I heard Emerson state that they were going to go to the nearest village and kidnap more people to turn to reapers but I don't know when or if it already happened," he responds.

In the kitchen, while Monroe washes the dishes, Danny discreetly puts a note in her pocket. She feels it but continues washing the dishes. Once she is done, she heads inside the pantry and closes the door. When she opens the note it says, "Group of ten people came two days ago. I prepared food for them but now I don't know where they are. I only see one dark skinned alpha male." She crushes that paper and when she comes out of the panty, she takes out some flour, honey and eggs. She sets them on the table for the cook to prepare.
