Chapter 36: Choose!

Early the following morning, Ava woke up and went to take a bath. She didn't like sleeping without her mate, but she knew it was necessary and hopefully he and their pups will come home today. One of their warriors arrived mid afternoon yesterday and explained what they had encountered and what would take place later in the night. Naturally she was furious when she was told about Wells and had been assured that Lexa will personally take care of the matter.

As Lunas, Ava and Lexa had the authority to deal with these kinds of matter with or without the intervention of their Alpha leader however, as mates, Ava often included Titus in her decision making process and she was sure that Lexa would consult her father if she found it necessary and Titus would only intervene if he felt that Lexa needed his assistance or else, he would leave her to make her own decisions.

She took her time bathing since Gaia had already informed her that she didn't need to worry about feeding the Purebloods, since she, her mate and the others would cook their own meals. Of course, that included Gaia going to the communal kitchen to get ingredients and Ava had also ordered some betas to stock up the kitchen's pack house with meat, flour, eggs and other ingredients. As of now, all she had to worry about was to have food prepared for her two brave little warriors who apparently had already woken up since she heard the heaving, thumping footsteps going down the stairs. She sighed heavily but smiled to herself as she got out of the shower and began to get ready for the day.

When she came down the stairs, the kitchen door was wide open and two shadows ran past by the door. Odi and Oli were playing tag and so she smiled and began to prepare breakfast for her family.

Back at the Alpha's tent, Titus was already up but his pups were still cuddled into their mates. When he got up, he saw Fay's face buried in Anya's neck and both females were cuddling while Bellamy had his arms wrapped tightly around Anya's waist and his face buried behind her neck. On the other cot, Octavia was in the middle and both mates had their faces buried in the crook of her neck and her arms were tightly clasping their waists. Clarke had her hand over the alpha's heart while Lexa's hand laid comfortably on Octavia's stomach.

He smiled and couldn't help but think of the similarities between Ava, Lexa and Anya. Much like Lexa, Ava had that same habit of placing her hand over his stomach and much like Anya, Ava also enjoyed when he cuddled her from behind. Lexa was physically similar to Ava, both had green eyes and the same coloured hair while Anya was more like his mother with her dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes. She even had similarities with her attitude just like her grandmother. Every time he saw her, he remembered his mother. Anya had inherited her grandmother's high cheekbones and stare while Lexa inherited Ava's frown and lips. The twins on the hand were just like him with their grey eyes and his dark brown locks. He walked out of his tent to greet his warriors and after having a hearty breakfast at sunrise, everyone packed up and headed towards the Ark. Things were going to get settled today, he informed them. He wanted to get back to his mate and twins as soon as possible.

One of the Alpha's warriors holds in his hand a stick with a white cloth wrapped around it to symbolize they come in peace. They can see the gates on the horizon.

Back at Prison Station there is a stage erected near the post with three nooses. During the course of the night, somehow Pike found out that Miller, Finn and Wick had helped the others escape. Naturally, he didn't know how they escaped but Diana Sydney had investigated with all their guards that were on duty and found a pattern. In every conversation she had with them, Miller's name kept popping up, so she confronted him and of course he denied. Being an Elite omega, she didn't have the pheromones to force him to talk so she went to Pike and being a Purebred alpha, Pike interrogated Miller for almost five hours straight, expelling his alpha pheromones to the beta but receiving nothing in return so, he resorted to beating the beta guard until he spoke, terrified for his life. Byrne, Sergeant Scott and other guards wanted to intervene but they were terrified that they would be executed and had backed off reluctantly.
