Mistaken

Chapter #34

Author's PoV :

"She's all yours anyway." - Taehyung.

"And remember that time when you fell on me from the waterslide? You should've seen your face!" Taehyung laughed, recalling some old memories with Jisoo as they walked side by side in the mall. "It was also the time when I fell for you" Upon hearing Jisoo's statement, his laughter died down immediately.

"Jisoo what . . . " He trailed off in confusion, watching a sad smile form on her face. "It's true, Tae. I used to like you back then in Daegu." She sighed, shaking her head. Taehyung didn't say a thing, he felt so guilty, he felt angry for not confessing his own feelings when he the chance to.

Taehyung realized how he really did break both of their hearts just because of his fear that she didn't like him back, if he had told her the three words at that time, then maybe Jisoo wouldn't have been telling him this right now.

"Jisoo I-" She cut him off before he could apologize. "No, no need to feel bad about this. I said I used to like you, it was in the past. I've moved on long ago, since you started dating Lisa." Jisoo flashed him a blinding smile, nodding her head behind him.

Taehyung furrowed his brows and followed her gaze, and when he realized it, he found himself relaxing. There stood a man with a very nice side profile, posing in front of a huge fish tank which was giving his figure a blue spotlight. 

"So you mean . . " Taehyung stopped his words right there, pointing between her and the man. Jisoo hummed with a nod, her face showing excitement and happiness which made Taehyung smile at her.

"Babe?" The man broke into a surprised chuckle when his eyes landed on Jisoo. "Love!" Jisoo grinned, walking over to the man and placing a light peck on his cheek. He stood frozen for a second and so did Jisoo, but when they remembered Taehyung was standing there watching everything, they snapped out of it and turned to Taehyung.

"Tae, this is Jin, my boyfriend" She introduced the handsome guy. "Nice to meet you," Jin gave away a very dashing smile as he extended his hand for a handshake. "Nice to meet you too, I'm Taehyung but can just call me Tae." Taehyung showed his infamous boxy smile as the two shook hands.

"Soo, why didn't you tell me about this before?" Taehyung scolded her playfully, and she laughed, linking her arms with Jin. "I wanted to surprise you, we've been together for almost a month now!" She told him.

"And speaking of a month, it's our monthsary today. Were you two talking about something important? Because I think we might have to go" Jin looked at his watch and then at Jisoo, giving her a wink.

If the girl hadn't been his best friend since childhood, then Taehyung would really feel disgusted seeing Jin flirt with her so casually, knowing that Taehyung and Jisoo both understood exactly what he had meant.

"Ah, not really, we were just talking about our childhood that we spent together" Taehyung said, trying to think of anything that could get him out of here, literally. "Oh, so you wouldn't mind if I stole her for the evening, would you?" Jin asked with hopeful eyes.

"No no, of course not, she's all yours anyway" Taehyung gave them both a warm smile. "Actually, I myself had to go somewhere regarding a business meeting that my father couldn't go to. Hope you two have fun" Taehyung added to his sentence, waving at them before he quickly walked past them to the other end of the aquarium, standing there for some time so that they could leave.

"So, you wanna tell me how it all went?" Jin asked, wrapping an arm around her shoulder in a comforting way. "I feel so alive after finally telling him about it, you were right, Jin." She looked at him, admiring his face.

"Wise words from wise men write wise deeds in wise pen." He quoted, proud of himself that he really did impress her after all. "You're so weird" She pushed his arm away with a laugh as they walked out hand in hand.

"Phew" Taehyung let out a sigh, watching Jin and Jisoo exit the aquarium. He waited for a couple of moments, looking at the fishes and trying to act like he was interested in them when in reality, he was just passing his time thinking about what to do since he had obviously lied to them about having a meeting.

Of course he had nowhere to rush to, even Lisa was busy in the salon today since there were just two days left before the party. He wondered if she was going to dye her hair again, because if she did, he knew he'd probably be whipped like every other time.

He smiled at the thought of her and as he walked, he took out his phone to check up on Lisa. But right as he was about to walk out of the aquarium, his eyes caught a familiar reflection in the fish tank, and he automatically halted at a stop.
